Don't rush to reset your password. More than 80% of "incorrect password" alerts at login are actually false prompts caused by input environment or capitalization issues, not that your password has been changed. Please check your input method and the Caps Lock key first, and only proceed with the password reset process after confirming they are correct.

1. Check Basic Input to Eliminate Simple Mistakes

What to do: Rule out "false errors" from typing habits or input environment.

How to do it:

  • Make sure your current input method is in English mode (passwords are case-sensitive; characters typed in Chinese input mode might be recognized as garbled text or full-width symbols).
  • Check if the Caps Lock indicator on your keyboard is on. If it's on, you'll be typing uppercase letters; if off, lowercase. Check each character carefully, especially easily confused ones like "0" and "O", "l" and "1".
  • If you copied and pasted the password, ensure there are no extra spaces or special characters at the beginning or end of the copied text.

When you're done: You've manually entered the password and confirmed that the input method, capitalization, and characters are all correct, but you still get an error.

Most "incorrect password" issues are resolved at this step.

Common reason for failure:

  • Passwords contain special symbols (like @, #, $) and when switching to the symbol keyboard on mobile, accidental taps mess up the input order.

2. Check for Device or Network Environment Issues

What to do: Confirm whether the error is caused by using a specific browser or network environment.

How to do it:

  • Case A: "Incorrect password" when logging in with a Web3 wallet (plugin). Some users using anti-detection browsers or virtual machines may encounter mismatched password in the "cross-device sync" settings, triggering a false password error. The solution is to re-import the wallet, or enable cross-device sync in the wallet's advanced settings.
  • Case B: "Incorrect password" when logging in via the App. Check if the App is the latest version. Older versions sometimes cause compatibility errors due to updates in the server-side verification protocol.
  • Case C: Multiple incorrect attempts. If you enter the wrong password too many times, the system may trigger a temporary security lockout (e.g., a message saying "Too many attempts, please try again after 15 minutes"). Wait 15-30 minutes before trying again.

When you're done: You've ruled out environmental factors, confirmed it's not a false alarm from device or network, and can move on to the reset process.

3. Reset Your Login Password Using "Forgot Password"

What to do: After confirming you've really forgotten the password, reset it using your linked verification methods.

How to do it: Click Forgot Password? on the login page and choose a verification method based on what you have linked:

  • Method 1 (Mobile phone verification): Enter your linked mobile number, get an SMS code, and set a new password after verification.
  • Method 2 (Email verification): Enter your registered email, check for an email with a reset link (also check spam folder), click the link to reset the password.
  • Method 3 (Google Authenticator): Enter the 6-digit dynamic code generated by Google Authenticator app (valid for 30 seconds), then reset after verification.

When you're done: Verification passes, the system says "Password changed successfully", and you can log in normally with the new password.

Prerequisites:

  • The linked phone number or email can receive verification codes.
  • If you have forgotten your linked info, you need to prepare identity documents and contact customer support.

After resetting, the system will forcibly log out all other devices for account security.

4. Understand Post-Reset Restrictions (Security Lock Period)

What to do: Be aware of sensitive operation restrictions after a password reset so you don't mistakenly think something is wrong with your account.

How to do it: After a successful password reset, a 24-hour security lock period is triggered to prevent risks.

  • Restrictions: For 24 hours after reset, you cannot withdraw funds, create API keys, modify whitelist addresses, etc.
  • Not affected: Viewing market data, placing orders, and depositing functions work normally.
  • Lift early: You can see the countdown in the App; it automatically lifts after 24 hours, or you can lift it early by completing identity verification via "facial recognition + liveness detection".

When you're done: You know the new password works and the scope of restrictions during the lock period.

Next step: Now log in with the new password, go to the "Security Settings" page, and check that the "Login Password" status shows as "Set". If you don't urgently need to withdraw within 24 hours, just trade normally; if you need an urgent withdrawal, use the facial recognition option in the App to lift the security lock early.
