What Enterprise Employees Must Prepare Before Registering on OKX

The basic registration requirements for enterprise employees on OKX are the same as those for individual users. However, you are more likely to encounter friction during the Source of Funds (SOF) verification stage—because you may be asked to explain the origin of your salary income. If you receive such a request, you need to have materials ready in advance that can prove the "legitimate source of your salary": payslips from the past three months, an employment verification letter, or bank statements showing your salary deposits. In addition, if you are opening an account in the company's name on behalf of your employer, you will need to prepare an entirely different set of institutional verification documents.

1. Basic Preparations Before Registration

What to do: As with all users, you need to prepare basic materials before registering.

How to do it:

  1. Identity information: A mobile phone number registered under your own name (enterprise employees can register using their personal mobile number) and an email address capable of receiving messages. Both must be bound during registration.

  2. ID documents: A valid original identification document. During the subsequent KYC process, you will need to upload clear photos of the front and back of the document and complete facial recognition.

  3. Confirm you are at least 18 years old: Users below the age requirement cannot pass identity verification.

What completion looks like: You have your mobile phone number, email address, and identification document at hand, and you are at least 18 years old.

If you later receive a source-of-funds inquiry, you do not need to prove "where the company's money comes from"—you only need to prove that "the funds in your account are your own legitimate income," such as payslips or bank statements. This documentation is only required if you are selected for review; not all users will be asked.

2. Personal Identity Verification (KYC)

What to do: Complete basic identity verification after registration to unlock trading, deposit, and withdrawal functions.

How to do it:

  1. Log in to the OKX app and go to 【Profile】→【Identity Verification】.

  2. Upload clear photos of the front and back of your ID card.

  3. Follow the prompts to complete facial recognition.

  4. Submit and wait for review, which typically completes within a few minutes to 24 hours.

What completion looks like: The account status displays "Verified" or "Standard Identity Verification."

Prerequisite: You have completed registration using your mobile phone number and email address.

Enterprise employees with stable jobs can simply fill in their company name and job title when entering occupation information. If you are asked to complete a questionnaire, providing your personal employment information truthfully will be sufficient to pass.

3. Institutional Account Opening (If Setting Up an Account for Your Company)

What to do: If you are opening an account on behalf of your company (not a personal account), you will need to prepare a separate set of institutional verification materials.

How to do it: According to official OKX guidelines, institutional verification requires the following documents and materials:

  1. Basic company information: Company name, registration number, date of incorporation, registered address, regulatory status, etc.

  2. Key personnel information: Identity verification details for at least one company director or manager (such as CEO or CFO), as well as information on directors, ultimate beneficial owners, and authorized users.

  3. Core documents:

    • Certificate of incorporation or business license

    • Memorandum and articles of association

    • Register of directors

    • Register of shareholders or beneficial ownership structure chart (signed and dated within the past 12 months)

    • Proof of business address (if different from the registered address)

    • Letter of authorization for account opening (or a board resolution containing this authorization)

    • If the entity is a private financial institution, the FCCQ Wolfsberg Questionnaire or an equivalent AML policy document is also required

  4. Regional restrictions: OKX does not provide services to certain regions, including Hong Kong, Canada, the United States and its territories, among others.

What completion looks like: All materials have been scanned into clear electronic copies, submitted, and are awaiting institutional verification review.

Common reasons for failure:

  • An enterprise employee has completed basic KYC under their personal name but then suddenly wants to convert the account to an institutional account—this requires going through the institutional verification channel and cannot be switched directly.

  • Incomplete institutional verification materials (e.g., the shareholder register has not been updated for more than 12 months).

  • The company is registered in a restricted region.

How to confirm you have completed the process correctly?

Individual users: Log in to OKX, go to 【Identity Verification】, and if the status shows "Verified," you are done.

Institutional users: After submitting your application on the institutional verification page, the status will show "Under Review." Wait for the OKX compliance team to complete their review. The review period typically takes several business days.
