Can OKX Grid Profits Be Withdrawn Separately?
Grid profits can be withdrawn separately without stopping the strategy, but the withdrawn profit will be deducted from the strategy's available funds.
Spot grid allows you to withdraw generated profits at any time without stopping the strategy. The rules for contract grid are different – profits serve as strategy margin and continue to run; to withdraw them, you need to stop the strategy.
"Grid profit" is not the same as "extra money in your account". Grid profits come from the price differences of buying low and selling high in each trade, and these profits are already in the strategy's asset balance. When withdrawing, the platform only lets you take out the "realized profit" portion, not the principal. After the grid's take-profit/stop-loss is triggered (or after stopping), positions are processed at market price, and all assets are eventually released to the trading account. At that point, profits arrive with the principal and direct withdrawal is supported.
Prerequisite: Identify your strategy type first
The withdrawal logic for spot grid and contract grid is completely different.
Go to [Trade] → [Strategies], find your grid strategy, and check the label in the upper left corner:
Spot Grid → Profit can be withdrawn separately
Contract Grid → Profit automatically serves as margin, cannot be withdrawn, only stop the strategy
Step 1 (Spot Grid): Find the "Withdraw Profit" entry
What to do: Withdraw the generated grid profit without stopping the strategy.
How to do it:
App: [Trade] → [Strategies] → [Spot Grid] → tap your strategy
Find the "Withdraw Profit" button on the strategy details page (in some versions, it's in the […] menu in the upper right corner)
Completion criteria: The page displays the specific amount of "Withdrawable Profit" (the realized profit portion).
Step 2 (Spot Grid): Confirm the withdrawable amount and execute the withdrawal
What to do: Enter the amount you want to withdraw and confirm the operation.
How to do it:
Enter the amount (cannot exceed the displayed "Withdrawable Profit")
Tap confirm, and funds will be transferred from the strategy account back to your trading account
Completion criteria: The system shows "Withdrawal successful", and the available balance of the corresponding currency in [Assets] → [Trading Account] has increased.
⚠️ Withdrawing profit affects the strategy's capital size – if profit is taken out, the total funds available for the strategy decrease. The running grid is not affected, but the funds available for future trades will be reduced. Withdrawing too much may cause some grids to be unable to execute.
Step 3 (Contract Grid): Confirm the rule that profit automatically serves as margin
What to do: Check whether contract grid profit really "cannot be withdrawn separately".
Rule: During the contract grid operation, the profit generated by grid arbitrage automatically serves as strategy margin and continues to be used for opening positions. Want to withdraw profit? OKX does not provide a separate "Withdraw Profit" button for you.
Completion criteria: Confirm that your contract grid strategy can only release all assets by "stopping", with no option to "withdraw only profit".
Step 4 (Contract Grid): To withdraw profit, you must stop the strategy
What to do: If you need to take out the profit from the contract grid, the only way is to stop the strategy.
How to do it:
Go to strategy details page → tap [Stop Strategy]
The system will close all positions at market price, releasing all funds and profits to the trading account
Completion criteria: The strategy status changes to "Stopped", and you can see all funds (including profits) originally in the strategy are credited in [Assets] → [Trading Account].
When stopping a contract grid, it uses market orders. There may be slippage during high volatility, so the actual credited amount may deviate from the "profit" shown on the strategy page. Weigh carefully before proceeding.
Common Failure Reasons
Cannot find the "Withdraw Profit" button in the spot grid strategy – In some versions, the entry is in the […] menu in the upper right corner, not directly displayed on the page. Check the menu.
"Withdraw Profit" prompts insufficient balance – Possibly because part of the profit in the strategy has been used as margin for pending grid orders; only "realized and unoccupied profit" can be withdrawn.
Contract grid users think they can withdraw profit, search but can't find it – It's not that you can't find it, the function simply doesn't exist.
Risk Reminder
After withdrawing profit from the spot grid, the strategy's "actual available funds" will decrease. If profit is taken out, the running grid continues to trade, but with less money, the size of future grid trades will be reduced.
Market price closing of the contract grid can suffer from slippage in illiquid conditions; the actual credited amount after stopping the strategy may be lower than the "total assets" displayed on the page. Do not stop the strategy during extreme market volatility.
How to Verify You Have Completed the Operation Correctly
If withdrawing profit from spot grid: After withdrawal, go to [Assets] → [Trading Account] and see that the balance of the corresponding currency has increased by the "withdrawal amount". The "current assets" on the strategy details page will decrease, but the "grid profit" cumulative value remains unchanged – that is historical cumulative profit, not the amount still in the account.
If withdrawing after stopping the contract grid: After stopping, go to [Assets] → [Trading Account] to confirm all funds are credited. Then check the strategy's "total profit" and "total assets" in [Strategies] → [History] and compare with the credited amount. If the deviation is within a reasonable range (usually within 0.5%), the operation is complete.
FAQ
Q: Is there a fee for withdrawing profit from spot grid? There is no extra charge for the withdrawal itself. However, each buy/sell trade during grid operation incurs trading fees, which have already been deducted when you traded.
Q: After withdrawing profit, will the strategy's "grid profit" cumulative data reset to zero? No. The "grid profit" cumulative value on the strategy details page represents total historical profit; after taking out profit, this number will not reset. The strategy's "current assets" will decrease, corresponding to the amount you withdrew.
Q: At what price is the contract grid profit settled after stopping? It is settled at the current market price (market order). When the contract grid is stopped, all positions are closed via market orders, and the average fill price is the settlement price. During volatile market conditions, the actual fill price of market orders may deviate from the price you see on the order book.
