How to Deposit TRX on OKX? A TRON (TRC20) Tutorial

OKX has only one rule for depositing TRX: choose the right network — TRX's native network is TRON (TRC20). When sending TRX from an external wallet (such as imToken or TP Wallet) to OKX, you must select the TRON network and the address must start with "T". If you pick the wrong network, your funds are almost certainly lost.

1. Preparation: Complete Your OKX Identity Verification (KYC)

What to do: Make sure your OKX account has completed identity verification.

How to do it:

  1. Log in to the OKX app or website.

  2. Go to [Profile] → [Identity Verification].

  3. Follow the instructions to submit your ID documents and complete the standard identity verification. Users who haven't finished KYC cannot deposit funds.

When is it done: Your account shows "Verified" or "Standard Identity Verification" status.

2. Get Your TRX Deposit Address on OKX

What to do: Log in to OKX, go to the deposit page, and obtain your dedicated TRX deposit address.

How to do it:

  1. Log in to the OKX app or website, tap [Assets] → [Deposit].

  2. Search for "TRX".

  3. When choosing the network, make sure to select TRON (TRC20) — this is TRX's native network. Choosing another network (like BSC or ETH) may result in permanent loss.

  4. The page will generate a 41-character address starting with "T". Copy it. This is your unique TRX deposit address and is only for receiving TRX.

When is it done: You've copied the TRON network deposit address that begins with "T" and verified it is correct.

Prerequisite: Your OKX account must have completed KYC identity verification.

3. Initiate the Transfer from an External Wallet: Double-Check Address and Network

What to do: Send TRX from your external wallet (e.g., imToken, TP Wallet, Trust Wallet) to your OKX deposit address.

How to do it:

  1. Open your external wallet, find your TRX balance, and tap [Send] or [Transfer].

  2. Paste the TRX address you copied from OKX (the one starting with "T") into the recipient field.

  3. Critical step: In the "Network" selection, you must choose TRON or TRC20 — exactly matching the network you selected on OKX.

  4. Enter the amount and make sure your wallet has enough TRX to cover the gas fee (TRX is the native coin of the TRON network; transfers require a small amount of TRX as a transaction fee).

  5. Submit the transaction.

When is it done: The transaction has been submitted and your wallet shows "Transaction broadcast" or "Pending confirmation".

Common reasons for failure:

  • Wrong network selected: You chose TRON (TRC20) on the OKX deposit page, but selected BEP20 or ERC20 in your wallet — the funds will be sent to the wrong network and are extremely difficult to recover. OKX officially reminds you: the token and the network must both match, not just the token name.

  • Incorrect address format: A TRX address must start with "T". If the address begins with "0x" or another prefix, you have selected the wrong network.

  • Insufficient gas fee: Your wallet does not have enough TRX to pay the transaction fee; the transfer will get stuck.

Risk reminder:

  • Network mismatch = possible permanent loss of funds: TRX is deployed on multiple chains (e.g., BSC, ETH), but OKX only supports TRX deposits on the TRON (TRC20) network. Sending tokens to the platform on an unsupported network may result in asset loss.

  • Regional limits for third-party payment deposits: If you are using fiat currency to buy TRX (rather than transferring from an external wallet), available payment methods vary by region. This may include bank transfer, credit/debit card, or P2P trading — refer to the OKX deposit page for the options actually displayed to you.

4. Confirm the Deposit Arrives

What to do: Wait for blockchain confirmations and check your OKX account balance.

How to do it:

  1. Use the TxID to check the transaction status on a TRON block explorer (such as tronscan.org). TRX network confirmations are usually fast, completing within a few minutes.

  2. Log in to OKX, go to [Assets] → [Funding Account] or [Trading Account] and see if the TRX balance has increased.

  3. Once your wallet balance updates, the deposit is complete.

When is it done: The TRX balance in your OKX trading account has been updated.

How to confirm you did everything correctly?

Look up the TxID on a TRON block explorer and verify the transaction status is "Success". Then log in to OKX and check that the TRX balance on the [Assets] page has increased. If this is your first time, it is recommended to test with a small amount (e.g., 1–5 TRX) first. Once that arrives successfully, transfer the remaining amount.
