How to Deposit TAO on OKX? Bittensor Funding Tutorial
TAO (Bittensor) is now listed on OKX, allowing you to trade it via spot or futures markets. TAO is the native token of the Bittensor protocol, a decentralized machine learning network. As early as September 2024, OKX launched the TAO/USDT perpetual contract and opened TAO/USDT spot trading, deposits, and withdrawals. Below is the deposit process.

Preparations: Account and USDT
Before you begin, complete these two preparations:
Register and complete identity verification: Download the OKX App or visit the official website to register, then follow the instructions to submit your ID or passport for KYC. This is a prerequisite for trading; without verification, you cannot deposit or trade.
Deposit USDT into your account: TAO currently supports the TAO/USDT spot trading pair, so you need USDT in your account. In the App, go to [Assets] → [Deposit], select USDT, and the system will generate a deposit address. Transfer USDT from your other wallet to this address. Critical risk: USDT operates on different networks like ERC-20, TRC-20, etc. You must select the exact network shown on the OKX deposit page. Choosing the wrong network will result in permanent loss of your assets.
Find TAO and Place an Order
Once your funds are in place, you can buy TAO.
Find the TAO trading pair: In the App's top market search bar, type TAO, then select the TAO/USDT spot pair from the results.
Place an order
Market order (fastest): Enter the USDT amount or TAO quantity you want, and the system will execute at the best available price.
Limit order (more control): Set your desired price and quantity, and the order will be filled automatically when the market reaches your price.
Confirmation: After placing the order, go to [Assets] → [Spot Account] and check that you see a TAO balance, meaning you have purchased TAO.

Key Risk Reminder
Network selection is non-negotiable: Choosing the wrong network during deposits or withdrawals is the most common cause of asset loss. TAO deposits and withdrawals use the Bittensor network. Before transferring, always double-check that the address and network type match exactly what OKX displays.
How to confirm completion: After a successful order, go to the "Assets" page on OKX and enter "Spot Account". If you can see the TAO balance, the deposit operation is complete. If the balance hasn't changed, check the "Order Center" to see if your order was filled.
