How to Get stETH on OKX: Lido Staking ETH Tutorial

stETH is a token on Ethereum, with the contract address 0xae7ab96520DE3A18E5e111B5EaAb095312D7fE84, and cannot be directly deposited via a specific deposit address. The approach differs entirely based on what assets you have.
Prerequisite: Determine Your Asset Type
First, identify whether you currently hold ETH, fiat currency, or other cryptocurrencies. This determines which path you take.
Step 1 (Scenario A): Stake ETH via Lido Protocol to Get stETH
What you do: If you have ETH, you can stake it through Lido's liquid staking protocol, exchanging ETH 1:1 for stETH while earning staking rewards.
How to do it:
Open the OKX App and go to the Web3 Wallet section.
On the wallet home page or DeFi section, find the Lido protocol entry.
Choose "Stake ETH", enter the amount you want to stake (no minimum, no need for 32 ETH).
Confirm the gas fee (ensure you have ETH in your wallet to cover network fees), sign and submit the transaction.
After the transaction succeeds, your wallet will receive an equivalent amount of stETH tokens.
When is it considered done: You see the stETH balance in your wallet, and the amount matches the ETH staked (1:1).
⚠️ If you cannot see stETH in your wallet after staking, you need to add the token manually: search for stETH in "Manage Tokens" or paste the contract address 0xae7ab96520DE3A18E5e111B5EaAb095312D7fE84, and enable it to show.
Step 1 (Scenario B): Buy stETH Directly with Fiat
What you do: If you have fiat currency (USD, EUR, etc.) and want to buy stETH directly on OKX, use the centralized exchange purchasing flow.
How to do it:
Log in to the OKX App and complete identity verification (KYC).
Go to [Buy Crypto] or [Buy Crypto] page, search for "stETH" or "Lido Staked Ether".
Choose a payment method (credit/debit card, bank transfer, C2C, etc.), enter the amount and place your order.
Confirm the order; after payment, stETH will be credited to your Trading Account (Spot Wallet).
When is it considered done: You can see the stETH balance in OKX [Assets] – [Spot Account].
Important note: OKX listed STETH/USD and STETH/USDT spot trading pairs on March 13, 2026, so you can trade directly on the platform.
Step 2: Verify and Confirm
What you do: Regardless of the path, finally confirm that the funds are in place.
How to do it:
Scenario A (Staking): Check your OKX Web3 Wallet assets and confirm the stETH balance.
Scenario B (Buying): Check your OKX Spot Account and confirm the stETH balance.
If the assets are not displayed, manually add the token as described in Scenario A.
Common Reasons for Failure
Insufficient Gas Fee: When staking ETH via the Web3 wallet, you must have enough ETH in the wallet to pay network fees, otherwise the transaction will get stuck.
stETH Token Not Added in Wallet: After successful staking, the wallet may not display stETH by default; you need to manually add the contract address.
Mistaking stETH Can Be "Deposited" into the Exchange: stETH is an on-chain token. If you want to transfer it from your Web3 wallet to your OKX trading account, you need to use the "Deposit" process – select the Ethereum network, get a deposit address, and then transfer. This is different from obtaining stETH via staking.
KYC Not Completed: To buy with fiat on the trading platform, you must complete identity verification.

stETH is a staking receipt token from Lido protocol, and its price may have a slight premium or discount relative to ETH, not a perfect 1:1 peg. In extreme market conditions, the discount could widen.

All on-chain transactions via the Web3 wallet are irreversible. Verify addresses and network before confirming.

How to Confirm Completion
Staking route: Open OKX Web3 Wallet, search for stETH to check balance. Or go to [Wallet] – [DeFi] – [Lido] to view staking details.
Purchase route: Open OKX [Assets] – [Spot Account], search for stETH to confirm balance.
If it hasn't arrived after more than 30 minutes (on-chain transaction not confirmed), copy the transaction hash (TxID) and check its status on Etherscan. If confirmed but not displayed in the wallet, try adding the token manually.
