After selling stocks on Binance, the money does not instantly become withdrawable balance. Settlement takes T+1 US stock market business days. Before settlement is complete, this USDC can only be used for spot and stock trading. It cannot be withdrawn or moved to futures or margin accounts.

How T+1 Is Calculated

"T" is the day your stock sell order is filled. T+1 means the next US stock market trading day, not the next calendar day.

If there is a weekend or a US federal holiday, the settlement date moves forward automatically. For example, if you sell on Friday, the next US stock market trading day is Monday, so settlement will not happen until Monday.

Difference Before and After Settlement

After your sell order is filled, the USDC balance you see in your Binance account increases immediately, but this money is in a locked state.

During the lock period, this USDC can be used to:

During the lock period, this USDC cannot be used to:

  • Withdraw to an on-chain wallet or bank card
  • Transfer to a futures account for leverage
  • Use for fiat trading

Only after T+1 settlement is complete does this USDC truly become a "free balance." At that point you can withdraw it or transfer it to other accounts.

What If You Sell bStocks?

If you sell bStocks (tokenized stocks), the situation is different. bStocks trade on the Binance spot market and settlement is instant. There is no T+1 waiting period. The funds from selling bStocks enter your spot account balance immediately and can be withdrawn right away.

How to Check Status After Selling

Check your USDC balance in the Binance App under your spot account or funding account. If the money shows as available balance but withdrawal fails with an "insufficient balance" or "funds frozen" message, it is still within the T+1 settlement period. Check again after the next US stock market trading day ends.
