Step 1: Register an Account
What to do: Create a Binance account.
How to do it: Open the official Binance website or app and click "Sign Up." Choose email or phone number (users in mainland China are recommended to use email to avoid unstable SMS verification codes). Set a strong password (uppercase and lowercase letters + numbers + symbols), enter a referral code if you have one (for example: FYLK9104; if you skip it during registration, it cannot be added later). Enter the verification code you receive and click "Create Account."
Completion standard: You receive a successful registration email or SMS from Binance and can log in normally.
Step 2: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
What to do: Add a second lock to your account to prevent theft if your password is leaked.
How to do it: After logging in, go to [Security Center], find [Two-Factor Authentication], and use Google Authenticator to scan the code and bind it. Write down the 16-digit key shown during binding and store it somewhere safe—if you lose your phone, you will need it to recover 2FA.
Completion standard: Every time you log in or withdraw funds, in addition to your password, you need to enter the 6-digit dynamic code generated by Google Authenticator.
Step 3: Complete Identity Verification (KYC)
What to do: Complete real-name verification to unlock deposit, withdrawal, and trading permissions. Accounts without KYC have limited functions and cannot make large withdrawals.
How to do it: Go to [Profile] → [Identity Verification]. Select your nationality, upload clear front and back photos of your ID card without obstruction, and follow the prompts to complete facial recognition. Make sure there is enough light and do not wear sunglasses or a hat.
Completion standard: The page shows "Verified" or your verification level meets the requirement. It usually passes within a few minutes to a few hours.
Step 4: Deposit Funds — Buy USDT
What to do: Convert fiat currency into the stablecoin USDT. This is the "ammunition" you will use for trading on Binance.
How to do it: On the homepage, click [Buy Crypto] → [P2P Trading] or [Quick Buy]. Select USDT, choose a merchant with high trading volume and a good rating, enter the amount, and transfer money via Alipay or bank card to the account provided by the merchant. After transferring, return to the page and click "I Have Paid," then wait for the merchant to release the coins. When choosing P2P, prioritize merchants with a "blue shield" badge for a higher completion rate.
Completion standard: You can see a USDT balance in your spot wallet.
Special reminder for beginners: When making a P2P payment, do not write sensitive words such as "coin," "U," "USDT," or "Binance" in the transfer note. Just write "transfer" or leave it blank, otherwise it may trigger bank risk control and cause the transfer to fail.

Step 5: Spot Trading — Buy Your First Coin
What to do: Use USDT to buy Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH).
How to do it: Go to [Trade] → [Spot Trading] and search for the "BTC/USDT" trading pair. There are two ways to place an order:
Market order: Enter the amount you want to buy, and the system will execute immediately at the current market price. Suitable for beginners and simple to use.
Limit order: Set a price yourself, and the order will only be filled when the market drops to that price. You can use this if you want to save on fees, but it may not be filled.
Enter the quantity and click "Buy BTC." After the order is filled, the asset will appear in your spot account.
Completion standard: You can see a BTC or other coin balance in your spot wallet, which means your first trade is complete.
How to verify completion: In [Wallet] → [Spot Account], you can see the coin and quantity you just bought, and there will also be a corresponding filled order in your trade history.
Next step: Go to [Security Center] and set up an anti-phishing code—choose a word that only you know. Every official email from Binance will include it from now on. If an email does not contain this word, treat it as phishing.
