To register aBinanceaccount using email, you basically need three things: an email address that can receive verification codes, a mobile number that can receive SMS, and your ID document. Registration itself takes only a minute or two, but the real "activation" happens later with identity verification (KYC) — without this step, your account functions will be severely limited.

Materials to Prepare Before Registration

ItemSpecific RequirementsNotes
Email AddressAn email that can receive messages normallyGmail, Outlook, and other international email services are more reliable; QQ/163 email can also work but may experience occasional delays
Mobile NumberA number that can receive SMS verification codesMainland China +86 numbers are accepted
ID DocumentNational ID, passport, or driver's licenseUsed for KYC identity verification after registration

Network environment note: Accessing the Binance official website from within China may be restricted, and some users may need a stable network tool to open the registration page properly. For node location, it is recommended to prioritize regions such as Taiwan, Japan, or Singapore.

Registration Process (Email Method)

Step 1: Visit the official website and go to the registration page

Open the Binance official website at www.binance.com in your browser, and click the [Register] button at the top right.

Step 2: Fill in the information

Choose the "Email Registration" method, enter your email address, and set a password of at least 8 characters that includes uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. If you have a referral code, enter it in the appropriate field.

Step 3: Email verification

After submitting the registration, Binance will send an email containing a 6-digit verification code to the email address you provided. Check your email inbox (remember to look in the spam folder) and enter the verification code to complete the verification.

Step 4: Registration complete — but don't stop here

After verification, your account is created, but its functionality is limited. The system will guide you to the identity verification page. If you skip this step, your account will only allow you to view market data, and you will not be able to deposit or trade; it will be in "withdrawal-only" mode.

What You Must Do After Registration

Complete Identity Verification (KYC)

This is the key step to truly "activate" your account. Go to the [Identity Verification] page and follow the prompts to complete the following:

  1. Select your country/region of residence (Mainland China users should select "China")
  2. Fill in your personal information such as name and ID number (must exactly match your ID document)
  3. Upload photos of the front and back of your ID
  4. Complete facial recognition verification

Review usually takes from a few minutes to a few hours. Once approved, all trading, deposit, and withdrawal functions will be unlocked.

Recommended Security Settings After Registration

After completing KYC, it is recommended to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect your account assets:

Security MeasureActionPurpose
Google AuthenticatorBind it in the [Security Center] and back up the secret keyMore secure than SMS verification, effectively prevents SIM swap attacks
Anti-Phishing CodeSet a custom codeHelps identify genuine Binance emails
Withdrawal WhitelistPreset commonly used withdrawal addressesPrevents assets from being transferred out in bulk if your account is compromised

Final check: After logging in, go to the [Identity Verification] page and confirm that the status shows "Verified." Being able to access the "Deposit" and "Trade" pages normally indicates that your account is fully activated.
