Opening a position successfully without seeing a liquidation price usually means you are using Cross Margin mode, or the platform is temporarily experiencing a display issue. The liquidation price definitely exists; it is just displayed differently than you expect.

1. Reason One: In Cross Margin Mode, the Liquidation Price Is Dynamic, Not Fixed
In Isolated Margin mode, margin is allocated only to a single position, and the liquidation price is relatively fixed. Cross Margin mode is the opposite: the entire account's available balance serves as margin, shared across all positions.
The margin balance in Cross Margin mode is calculated as:
Margin Balance = Wallet Balance + Unrealized PnL
This means that the profit and loss of your other positions directly affect the current position's liquidation price. When other positions gain, your liquidation price moves farther away; when they lose, your liquidation price quickly approaches. It will not display as a fixed number because it is constantly changing with the overall account situation.
2. Reason Two: Temporary Platform System Failure or Outage
In October 2025, Binance Futures experienced a serious outage. Many users reported being unable to place orders, failed fund transfers, and at the same time the liquidation price could not be displayed. This is not an issue with your account, but with the platform.
If you see all other page data normally except the liquidation price is missing or shown as "--", check social media or community channels — if everyone is reporting the same problem, it is a platform-side fault. Simply wait for recovery.
3. Reason Three: Difference Between Mark Price and Last Price Causes Display Delay
The liquidation price is calculated based on the Mark Price, not the last traded price. The mark price is a "fair price" derived from the spot index, funding rate, order book basis, and other factors, designed to prevent wrongful liquidations caused by sudden large orders or market manipulation.
When the last price fluctuates violently while the Mark Price remains relatively stable, the system may not immediately update the liquidation price display, or the displayed value may deviate from your intuitive judgment. Your position does have a liquidation price; it is just that the reference you are viewing has not caught up yet.
4. Reason Four: Your Position Size Is Too Small, and the Display Is Omitted
In some cases, when the position is extremely small, the difference between the liquidation price and the current price is huge (extremely close to zero or infinity). To keep the interface clean, the frontend may simply omit the value instead of showing an exaggerated price with no practical reference.

5. How to Confirm Where Your Liquidation Price Actually Is
Step 1: Back-calculate the liquidation price using the "Futures Calculator"
What to do: Calculate it yourself; it is more reliable than waiting for the interface to display.
How to do it: On the Binance Futures page, find [Futures Calculator], enter your entry price, position size, leverage, and direction. The system will directly output the theoretical liquidation price for that position under Isolated Margin mode. This gives you a reference baseline without external interference.
Step 2: Switch to "Detailed Mode" to view dynamic data
What to do: If you cannot see the liquidation price in Cross Margin mode, switch the display mode in the app.
How to do it: Go to [Futures] → tap the […] icon in the top right → [Preferences] → switch [Position Display Mode] to [Detailed Mode]. After switching, the positions screen will show more dynamic indicators (such as Estimated Liquidation Price, Margin Ratio, etc.), which update in real time along with the overall account status.
Prerequisite: You have successfully opened a position but the positions interface does not show a liquidation price. If this is caused by a platform outage, other functions (such as order placement, transfers) will also be abnormal; in that case, there is no need to check your own settings — wait for the platform to recover.
Risk Warning: Not displaying a liquidation price does not mean it does not exist. In Cross Margin mode, if other positions are losing, the margin balance continuously shrinks and the liquidation price can suddenly approach, especially when your account enters "Reduce-Only" mode, significantly raising liquidation risk. It is recommended to keep the margin ratio below 80%.
After completing the checks above, how can you confirm you've figured it out?
First, use the Futures Calculator to get the theoretical liquidation price under Isolated Margin mode as a baseline. If you are in Cross Margin mode, check the [Estimated Liquidation Price] item in the positions panel — it dynamically reflects your true liquidation threshold. Rely on this number rather than waiting for a fixed liquidation price to appear.
