After depositing, assets default to your Funding Wallet. You need to manually transfer them to your Spot Wallet to start trading. The transfer can be done on both the Binance app and website, and it's instant and free of charge.

Step 1: First, check which wallet your funds are in

Go to the [Funds] page and see the wallet tag where your asset balance sits. The wallet destination depends on the deposit method:

  • P2P buying, fiat deposit, crypto deposit via blockchain: Funds default to Funding Wallet

  • Bank transfer (SWIFT) USD deposit: Funds go directly to Spot Wallet upon arrival

  • Receiving via Binance Pay: Funds land in Pay Wallet, requiring a transfer before trading

If your assets are in the Funding Wallet or Pay Wallet and you want to trade on the spot market, you need to make a transfer.

What counts as done: Confirming the current location of your funds and your target account type.

Step 2: Transfer from Funding Wallet to Spot Wallet (App)

Option 1: Transfer directly from the trading page (fastest)

  1. Go to any spot trading pair page (e.g., BTC/USDT)

  2. Tap the [Transfer] button below the trading area

  3. Select "From Funding Wallet" → "To Spot Wallet"

  4. Enter the coin and amount, then confirm

Option 2: Transfer via the Assets page

  1. Tap the bottom [Funds] → tap [Transfer] button

  2. Select from account: Funding Wallet, to account: Spot Wallet

  3. Choose the coin, enter amount, confirm

What counts as done: After transfer, the Spot Wallet balance shows the corresponding asset.

Step 3: Transfer from Funding Wallet to Spot Wallet (Web)

  1. Log in to Binance, click [Wallet] at the top → [Spot Account]

  2. Click the [Transfer] button

  3. In the transfer pop-up, select "From Funding Wallet" → "To Spot Wallet"

  4. Choose the coin, enter amount, click confirm

What counts as done: The page shows "Transfer successful", and the Spot Wallet balance updates.

Step 4: Transfer to Futures Wallet (if you want to trade futures)

If you plan to trade futures, you need to move funds from your Spot Wallet or Funding Wallet to your Futures Wallet.

  1. Go to the [Futures] page and click [Transfer]

  2. Select source account (Spot Wallet or Funding Wallet), target account: "USDS-M Futures"

  3. Enter the amount, confirm

Note: The Futures Wallet and Spot Wallet are separate. Only the margin in the Futures Wallet can be used for futures trading.

FAQ and Risk Reminders

  • Transfer vs. Withdrawal are different: A transfer moves assets between internal Binance wallets; no fee, instant. A withdrawal sends assets to an external wallet and involves network gas fees.

  • Different wallet types cannot trade directly: Assets in the Funding Wallet cannot be used to place orders on the spot page; they must be moved to the Spot Wallet first.

  • Wrong transfer direction: If you accidentally select the opposite direction (e.g., from Spot to Funding instead), assets will end up in the wrong wallet. Simply transfer again to correct it.

After making a deposit, go to the [Funds] page to check where your assets are. If they are in the Funding Wallet, follow the steps to transfer to your Spot Wallet, then you can start placing orders on the spot market. If you need futures trading, transfer to the Futures Wallet afterwards.
