How to Verify Your Binance Avalanche C-Chain Deposit Address
The deposit address for Avalanche C-Chain uses the same format as other EVM networks on Binance (such as ETH and BSC) — it starts with "0x", but it is completely incompatible with the X-Chain and P-Chain. The core of address verification consists of three things: the address must start with 0x, it must be copied from Binance's deposit page, and your wallet must not autofill the wrong network. 1. Understand the Differences Between Avalanche's Three Chains First
What to do: Understand what the C-Chain, X-Chain, and P-Chain are each used for, and what their address formats are.
How to do it: Avalanche has three separate chains, all verified and secured by the main network, but with completely different purposes and address formats:
C-Chain (Contract Chain): Used for smart contracts and DeFi applications. Addresses start with 0x and are Ethereum-compatible (MetaMask works). When you deposit AVAX on Binance, the default network is C-Chain.

2. Get the C-Chain Deposit Address on Binance
What to do: Log in to Binance, get the C-Chain address from the deposit page; do not use an old address from an external wallet or transaction history.

Search for "AVAX".

3. How to Verify the Address
What to do: Before transferring, make sure the address, the wallet network, and the block explorer all match each other.
How to do it:
Verify address format (most critical):
Binance C-Chain deposit address: starts with 0x, standard EVM format
Avalanche X-Chain address: starts with X-avax1...
Avalanche P-Chain address: starts with P-avax1...
Verify wallet network:
In external wallets like MetaMask, confirm the current network is set to Avalanche C-Chain, not Ethereum, BSC, or Polygon. Sending on the wrong network means funds go elsewhere; Binance's C-Chain address cannot receive them properly.
Verify address consistency:
Compare the address copied from Binance character by character with the destination address shown on your wallet's "Send" page. Focus on the first few and last few characters after "0x".
Verify on the block explorer:
After the transfer, enter the TxID on Snowtrace (Avalanche C-Chain explorer) and confirm the recipient address exactly matches the Binance address.
When it's done: The address starts with 0x, the wallet network is Avalanche C-Chain, and the recipient shown in the block explorer matches your Binance address.
Common reasons for failure:
Sending from X-Chain to a C-Chain address: X-Chain addresses start with avax1, C-Chain addresses start with 0x. Cross-chain transfers require the official Avalanche bridge; you cannot send directly.
Sending from P-Chain to a C-Chain address: Same as above; you must first export from P-Chain to C-Chain.
Wrong wallet network: Sending on Ethereum mainnet to a 0x address does not work because AVAX is not a native asset on Ethereum, and Binance will not credit it.
Reusing an old address from another exchange: Old addresses may become invalid after wallet upgrades. Before every transfer, copy the address fresh from Binance's deposit page.
Risk warning:
Network mismatch could cause permanent loss: The three Avalanche chains have different address formats. Using the wrong network often means assets cannot be recovered. Binance only supports C-Chain deposits; AVAX sent via other chains cannot be processed.
