Does Binance Charge Platform Fees for On-Chain Deposits?
Binance does not charge platform fees for on-chain deposits. When you deposit crypto assets from an external wallet or another exchange to Binance, Binance charges no inbound fees — you receive exactly the amount you sent. However, you still need to pay the on-chain gas fee charged by the sender (your wallet or the originating exchange). This fee is collected by the blockchain network, not by Binance.

Step 1: Understand that "Platform Fee" and "On-Chain Gas Fee" Are Two Different Things
Many users confuse "Does Binance charge a fee?" with "Does a transfer cost money?" They are actually two completely separate charges.
Fees charged by Binance (for deposits):
Binance officially states that crypto deposits are free of charge.
No matter how much you deposit, Binance will not take a cut from the deposited amount.
What you still need to pay (charged by the sender):
When initiating a transfer from an external wallet or exchange, you must pay on-chain gas fees / withdrawal fees.
These fees are collected by the blockchain network (miners/validators) or the sending exchange — not by Binance.
When you have completed this step: You can clearly separate "Does Binance charge?" from "Does the transfer itself cost money?"
Step 2: Understand the Typical Gas Fee Levels for Common Networks
Gas fees vary greatly between different blockchain networks. Choosing the right network can save you a significant amount.
| Network | Estimated Gas Fee per Transfer | Speed | Address Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRC20 (Tron) | Usually < 1 USDT | A few minutes | Starts with T |
| BEP20 (BSC) | Usually < 1 USDT | A few minutes | Starts with 0x |
| ERC20 (Ethereum) | Several to dozens of USD | 10+ minutes | Starts with 0x |

TRC20 and BEP20 offer the best value for everyday deposits, while ERC20 is suitable for specific scenarios or large transactions.
When you have completed this step: You know that when depositing USDT, fees on TRC20 or BEP20 are far lower than on ERC20.
Step 3: How to Confirm Fees in Practice
Before initiating a deposit, take a few seconds to verify the actual costs:
In the Binance App, go to [Funds] – [Deposit], and select the coin and network.
The page will show the deposit address for that coin on the selected network — this screen will not display any deposit fee.
When you initiate a withdrawal from your external wallet or exchange, the withdrawal page will show the current gas fee / withdrawal fee. This is the only fee you actually need to pay.
Key note: According to official Binance announcements, even SWIFT USD bank transfers are fee-free for deposits, and the same applies to on-chain deposits.
When you have completed this step: You check the specific gas fee amount on the withdrawal page before confirming the transaction.
Common Misconceptions
"Paying a fee for deposits = Binance is charging me": Binance charges nothing on deposits. The fee you pay is the on-chain gas fee charged by the sender. If you withdraw from another exchange, that exchange's withdrawal fee is what you are paying — not a charge from Binance.
"ERC20 is fine, the fee difference doesn't matter": ERC20 gas fees can be several times or even dozens of times higher than TRC20. For regular small deposits, avoid ERC20 unless you specifically need to use the Ethereum network.
"Binance deducts the gas fee from my deposit amount": No. The gas fee is paid by the sending wallet when the transfer is initiated. Binance receives the full deposit amount.

Risk Reminders
Although Binance does not charge, choosing the wrong network could result in a total loss of funds — for example, sending ERC20 USDT to a TRC20 deposit address means the assets are almost impossible to recover.
If you withdraw from another exchange, that exchange may charge a withdrawal fee based on a fixed rate or flat amount. Fee structures vary by platform, so verify before withdrawing.
For large deposits, it is recommended to do a small test first (e.g., transfer 10 USDT), confirm it arrives successfully, and then send the remaining balance.
After submitting a deposit, check the status in the Binance App under [Funds] – [Deposit History]. If the deposit does not arrive within the normal confirmation time, use the transaction hash (TxID) to look up the confirmation progress on the relevant blockchain explorer.
