Prerequisites
You have passed basic identity verification (submitted ID/passport, etc.).

You have access to a channel for issuing a proof of address (bank app, utility bills, etc.).
Step 1: Check if your address proof has expired
Look at the Issue Date on your address proof document. Acceptable document types include: bank statements, utility bills (water, electricity, gas), government agency letters, credit card statements, etc.
If the date is before April 19, 2026 (using today, July 19, 2026, as reference), this document is over 3 months old and cannot be used.
If the date is after April 19, 2026, the document is valid and can be submitted directly.

Step 2: Obtain a new address proof
If your document has expired, get a new one based on the following scenarios:
Scenario A: Using bank / Alipay / WeChat statement (most recommended, fastest)
Bank: Log into your bank's app, go to "Statements" or "e-Statements", and download the latest month's electronic statement. The statement must show your name and full residential address. Save it as a PDF (screenshots are not accepted).
Alipay: Open Alipay → My → Bills → tap the "Issue Certificate" option at the top right → select "for proof of address" to get a PDF file with an official stamp and your address.
WeChat: WeChat Pay → Wallet → Bills → FAQ → Download Bills → select "for personal reconciliation" to obtain a PDF file as well.
Scenario B: Using utility bills
Log into your local water, electricity, or gas utility provider's website or app, and download the most recent electronic bill. Again, it must include your name, full address, and a date.
Completion criteria: Successfully download a PDF file that contains your name + full address + a date within the last 1–2 months.
Step 3: Submit the new address proof to OKX
Log into the OKX App or website, go to [Profile] → [Identity Verification].
Find the "Advanced Verification" section, click "Re-submit" or "Supplement Materials".
In the address proof upload area, select the PDF file you just downloaded and upload it.
Before submitting, confirm that the residential address shown on the page exactly matches the address on your document.
Completion criteria: The page shows "Submitted successfully" and the review process begins.
Step 4: Wait for review and monitor the result
After submission, the review usually takes 24 to 72 hours, generally no more than 3 business days. During this period, keep an eye on in-app notifications or your registered email for approval status or requests for additional materials.
If the document is clear and the information matches completely, automatic system approval may take only 10–30 minutes. If the system is busy or manual review is required, it will take longer accordingly.
Common reasons for rejection
The document only shows an electronic date, not a specific issue date
Some statements only have a "generated date" without clearly marking the billing cycle or issue date. OKX's review requires the document's issue date to be within the last 3 months. It is recommended to use documents that clearly state the billing period (e.g., "June 2026 bill"), or a bank-issued statement with a clearly printed date.

Serious consequences for document forgery: Do not try to Photoshop dates or addresses. The platform's risk control will verify the authenticity of the file; once forgery is discovered, the account will be permanently restricted and assets may be frozen.
Sensitive operations restricted during the 24–72 hour review period: While your Advanced Verification is under review (24–72 hours), your account may not be able to perform large withdrawals, C2C selling, etc., until verification is approved.

How to confirm the process is complete
After submitting, check the status on the [Identity Verification] page. When the status changes from "Under review" to "Verified" or "Advanced Verification approved", the address proof is valid and the process is complete. If you receive a rejection notice, check the reason (usually "blurry document", "address mismatch", or "date expired") and resubmit a compliant document based on the instructions.
