What are the image format requirements for OKX KYC verification?
OKX KYC verification images support four formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, and PDF. The file size must be kept within 5MB (for individual verification, generally within 2MB; for corporate verification, up to 5MB). Step 1: Confirm the verification type and corresponding image requirements
OKX individual and corporate verifications have slightly different format and size requirements.
Case A – Individual Identity Verification (KYC):
Supported formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG
File size: recommended within 2MB
Resolution: recommended no less than 600×800 pixels

Step 2: Take / prepare an image that meets the requirements
OKX's official image capture requirements are as follows:
Must use the original document: The photo of the ID must be taken from the physical document. Screenshots, photos of a phone screen, or photocopies are not accepted.
Color image: Black-and-white or grayscale images are not acceptable.
All four corners visible: The document must be shown in its entirety within the frame, with no edges cut off.
Information clearly legible: All details such as name, ID number, photo, and expiration date must be recognizable.
No glare or obstruction: Avoid direct light causing reflections, and do not cover any part of the document with your fingers.
For a selfie holding the document:
The document's photo side must face the camera
Your full face must be visible; do not wear masks, hats, glasses, or other items that obscure your face
The document must not cover your face
Take the photo in a well-lit environment
Completion criteria: The image has been prepared according to the above requirements, and you can confirm that all information is readable in the preview.
Step 3: Check the image format and size
After capturing the image, verify the file meets the requirements before submitting.
Check the file format: In your phone's photo gallery or computer folder, check the file extension to confirm it is .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .pdf
Check the file size: For individual verification, it is recommended to keep it within 2MB; for corporate verification, no more than 5MB
Check the resolution: For individual verification, a minimum of 600×800 pixels is recommended
Completion criteria: The file format, size, and resolution all meet the requirements for the corresponding verification type.
Step 4: Submit the images in the App
OKX identity verification must be completed in the App. The images must be captured in real time; you cannot upload existing photos from your gallery.
Open the OKX App and go to [User Center] – [Identity Verification]
The system will call up the camera; you need to capture the document photo and your face in real time during the verification process
Align the document according to the on-screen example, making sure all four corners fit within the viewfinder
The system will automatically check image quality and only allow submission once it meets the standard
Completion criteria: The image has been captured and successfully submitted, and the page shows that verification is under review.
Common reasons for rejection
Unsupported image format: Some users try to upload BMP, GIF, or other formats, which will be rejected. Always use JPG, JPEG, PNG, or PDF
File too large: Images larger than 2MB (individual) or 5MB (corporate) will be blocked by the system
Image is not an original: Screenshots or photos of photocopies will be rejected; you must take a photo of the physical document
Blurry image or incomplete edges: Images where information is unreadable or where the document edges are cropped will be returned

Risk reminders
Verification images must be taken in real time within the App: OKX does not allow uploading existing photos from the gallery, in order to prevent the use of fake or edited images
Resubmitting after editing images may trigger risk controls: Multiple submissions of substandard images may lead to a temporary lock on the verification process
Once you have confirmed that the images meet the requirements, capture them in real time in the App and submit.
