How to Use OKX DEX Aggregator+? Intent Swap, Quotes and Execution

OKX DEX Aggregator+ works by automatically deciding whether your trade goes through "Intent Swap" or a "traditional aggregator". You do not need to choose manually. Intent Swap lets multiple professional solvers bid on your order. How the system decides which route to take

When you open DEX Aggregator+, the system automatically routes your trade based on three factors. You do not need to understand the underlying logic:

Trade amount. Trades of 1,000 USD or more are usually more likely to benefit from Intent Swap. The system asks both Intent and aggregator routes for quotes, compares the results, and chooses the better one.

Token type. RWA (real-world asset) tokens are more likely to go through Intent Swap, because these assets may only be tradable through a solver's private liquidity channels and may not exist in standard AMM pools at all.

Speed preference. If you trade in Meme mode or fast buy mode, the system prioritizes speed and routes directly through the traditional aggregator, skipping the bidding wait of Intent Swap.

The actual flow of Intent Swap

You are not signing a transaction with fixed parameters. Instead, you sign an "intent"—expressing that you are willing to swap token A for token B under certain conditions, such as a minimum amount received. Multiple solvers, including OKX's own and third-party ones, receive your intent and bid on it. The solver with the best quote wins the auction and executes the trade on-chain through a settlement contract.

The whole process takes a few seconds longer than a standard swap, but for large trades the price improvement often makes up for the wait.

Three direct benefits you can get

Gas-free. When using Intent Swap, the winning solver pays the gas fee. You do not need native tokens like ETH in your wallet to cover settlement costs.

MEV protection. Your trade intent is not broadcast to the public mempool. Instead, it is sent directly to solvers participating in a sealed auction. This means front-running and sandwich attacks are prevented at the architecture level, rather than relying on extra protection tools.

Extra (surplus). Because multiple solvers compete, the final quote may be better than the standard aggregator quote. This difference is called Extra and is shown directly in the order panel.

Settings entry

You can control the Intent Swap switch in the swap interface settings:

On (Smart Mode): The system automatically decides which route each trade takes. Recommended for most users.
Off: All trades only go through the traditional aggregator. If you want the fastest execution and do not want to wait for solver quotes, you can turn it off.

If you turn off Intent Swap but enter an amount over 5,000 USD, the system will remind you to turn it on for a better price.

Settings location: On the App, tap the settings icon next to the order panel in the swap interface. On the Web, use the settings gear icon next to the swap panel.

The relationship between quote and execution

When Intent Swap is active, the quote you see in the order panel is the result of bidding among multiple solvers, not a quote from a single liquidity pool. At execution time, the winning solver submits the transaction on-chain. You do not need to manually confirm the solver's identity or settlement contract details. The system handles all of that.

If Intent Swap is not activated, for example because the amount is too small or you manually turned it off, the trade goes through the traditional aggregator route. The quote comes from OKX's X Routing algorithm, which splits orders, compares prices across multiple DEX platforms, and selects the best path after considering slippage and network fees.
