1. Preparation: Register an account and deposit USDT
Before starting, you need to complete two preparations:
Register and complete identity verification: Download the OKX App or visit the official website to sign up, and follow the instructions to submit your ID or passport to complete KYC. This is a prerequisite for trading; without verification, you cannot deposit or trade.
Deposit USDT into your account: Currently, IP supports the IP/USDT spot trading pair, so you need USDT in your account. In the App, tap [Assets] → [Deposit], search for USDT and select it. The system will generate a deposit address; transfer USDT from your other wallet to this address. Key risk: USDT exists on multiple networks such as ERC-20, TRC-20, BEP-20, etc. You must select the exact network shown on the OKX deposit page. Choosing the wrong network will result in asset loss with no way to recover.
2. Find IP and Place an Order
Once the funds have arrived, you can buy IP.
Find the IP trading pair: In the search box at the top of the App's market, type "IP", and select IP/USDT spot trading pair from the results.
Place an order to buy:
Market order (fastest): Enter the amount of USDT you want to spend or the quantity of IP you want to buy, and the system will execute at the current best price.
Limit order (controlled): Set the price per unit you are willing to buy and the quantity, then place the order. It will be filled automatically when the market price reaches your set price.
Completion check: After placing the order, go to [Assets] → [Spot Account] to see your IP balance, confirming that you have purchased it.

3. Key Risk Reminder
Network selection is a hard requirement: Choosing the wrong network when depositing or withdrawing is the most common cause of asset loss. OKX advises that you must ensure the selected withdrawal network matches the deposit network of the other exchange or wallet. The IP token is an ERC-20 token, with the contract address: 0x0996eb756920182de574661AA2D4Ca8D67d512DA.
How to confirm the operation is complete:
After successfully placing an order, go to OKX's "Assets" page and enter "Spot Account". If you see an IP balance, it means the deposit operation is completed. If the balance hasn't changed, check the "Order Center" to see if your order has been filled.
