How to Deposit FLOW on OKX: Flow Chain Funding Tutorial
Depositing FLOW into OKX does not require a Memo. You only need to copy the deposit address provided by OKX and paste that address on the withdrawal platform. Unlike EOS and XRP, FLOW does not have an extra digital tag to fill in.
Prerequisites
Before you start, confirm two things:
You have completed identity verification (KYC) on OKX; otherwise, the deposit function is not available.
You hold FLOW in another exchange or wallet, and you know how to initiate a withdrawal.
Steps
Option A: Depositing FLOW from an External Wallet or Another Exchange
Get OKX FLOW deposit address: Open the OKX app or web, go to [Assets] - [Deposit]. Search for "FLOW", select the Flow (FLOW) network. The system will generate a deposit address. Copy it. There will be no Memo or Tag input, indicating FLOW does not require one.
Initiate the transfer on the sending platform: Go to where your FLOW is stored (another exchange or wallet), choose "Withdraw" or "Send". Paste the address from step 1 into the "Recipient address" field.
Verify the address and submit: Ensure the sending platform also selects the Flow Mainnet network. Using the wrong network may result in lost assets. Double-check the address, enter the amount, confirm the miner fee, then submit the transaction.
What counts as completed: The sending platform shows "Withdrawal successful" and generates a TxID (transaction hash).
Option B: Buying FLOW on OKX with Funds
First, ensure your OKX account has USDT or fiat balance. If not, go to the [Buy Crypto] page to deposit first.
Go to [Trading] - [Spot Trading], search "FLOW", and select the FLOW/USDT trading pair.
Enter the amount you want to buy. A market order will execute instantly; a limit order will wait to be filled.
What counts as completed: The order status shows "Filled", and your FLOW balance increases on the [Assets] page.
Common Issues and Risk Reminders
Common failure reason: Wrong deposit network. Depositing FLOW using a different network (e.g., ERC20 or BSC) to OKX's Flow mainnet address will not result in an automatic credit. It requires manual processing by customer support, which can be cumbersome.
Risk reminder: OKX assigns each user a fixed FLOW deposit address, but it's recommended to revisit the deposit page before each transaction to check that the platform has not suspended FLOW deposits/withdrawals due to a mainnet upgrade. Forced transfers could result in long delays before the funds appear.
Arrival time: Deposit crediting depends on the Flow network's confirmation speed and the number of confirmations required by OKX. It may be prolonged during network congestion, but typically completes within a few minutes.
How to Verify the Deposit
After the transfer, open OKX [Assets] - [Funding Details] and filter by FLOW. If you see a record showing "Deposit pending" or "Deposit successful", it means the address was entered correctly and the funds have entered OKX's system. If the TxID shows "Success" on a Flow blockchain explorer for more than 30 minutes but OKX has not credited the deposit, contact OKX support with the TxID.
