BERA (Berachain) was listed on OKX on February 6, 2025, supporting spot and perpetual contract trading. Buying BERA on OKX essentially means purchasing with USDT on the spot market, rather than performing complex on-chain swaps. If you already have USDT, simply go to the BERA/USDT spot trading pair and place an order. If you don't have USDT yet, first use the fiat on-ramp to deposit USDT into your account. Here's a breakdown of the entire process.

1. Preparation: Have USDT in Your Account

BERA's most active trading pair is BERA/USDT, so you need USDT in your account.

  • If you already have USDT: skip this step and go directly to step 2.

  • If you don't have USDT yet: in the app, tap [Assets] → [Deposit], select USDT, and the system will generate a deposit address. Transfer USDT from another wallet. Alternatively, buy USDT directly via bank transfer, credit card, or other fiat channels. Note: USDT exists on different networks like ERC-20, TRC-20, etc. You must select the exact network shown on the OKX deposit page. Choosing the wrong network will result in permanent loss of assets.

2. Find the BERA Trading Pair and Place an Order

Once funds are ready, you can buy.

  • Find BERA: In the app's top search bar, type BERA and select the BERA/USDT spot trading pair from the results.

  • Place an order: Choose a market order (immediately filled at the best current price) or a limit order (set a price you're willing to wait for, and the order will be filled once that price is reached). Enter the amount and confirm the order.

3. Confirm Your Assets After Trading

After placing the order, you can see your BERA balance under [Assets] → [Spot Account], meaning the purchase is complete. If the balance hasn't changed, go to the "Order Center" to check if the order was filled.

4. Key Risk Reminders

  • Short-term volatility risk of newly listed coins: OKX imposed trading limits during BERA's initial listing, which have now been removed. However, newly listed coins often experience severe price swings – manage your risk accordingly.

  • Network selection is a hard rule: If you are depositing BERA from an external wallet into OKX, make sure you use a Berachain network address. Do not select the wrong chain.

After a successful order, go to the OKX "Assets" page and click into "Spot Account". Seeing your BERA balance there means the deposit operation is complete. If the balance hasn't updated, check the "Order Center" to see if the order was filled.
