Binance Wallet Approval Limit Set to Unlimited: How to Change to One-Time Limit?

Wallet approval set to "Unlimited" allows the counterparty to repeatedly use your assets without further confirmation until you revoke the approval. Binance Wallet now supports modifying the approval amount before signing. You can manually change "Unlimited" to the specific amount you need right in the confirmation window, or use the "Approval Management" feature to revoke the old approval and issue a new single-transaction limit approval.

Here are the steps to change to a one-time limit.

Step 1: Change "Unlimited" to a Specific Amount Before Signing

Binance Wallet now allows you to directly modify the approval amount in the signing popup, the most straightforward way.

What to do: When the DApp initiates an approval request and the wallet pops up the signing confirmation window, modify the approval quantity.

How to do it:

  • When you connect to a DApp for token approval in Binance Wallet, the signing popup will display an input field for the approval amount.

  • If the default shows "Unlimited" or a very large number (like 2^256-1), click the field and manually enter the exact amount of tokens you need this time.

  • After modification, click confirm to sign. The approval amount is now limited to the number you entered, rather than unlimited.

When is it done: You've confirmed that the approval amount shown in the signing popup has been changed to a specific number instead of "Unlimited".

Common failure reason: Not checking the default value in the signing popup and simply clicking confirm. Many users habitually ignore details in the popup, resulting in an unlimited approval being issued.

Step 2: If the Approval Has Already Been Granted — Revoke the Old Approval and Re-issue a One-Time Approval

If you've already confirmed an unlimited approval, or missed the option to change it during signing, you need to first revoke the old approval and then initiate a new limited approval.

What to do: Find the approval record for that DApp/contract in Binance Wallet's approval management page and revoke it.

How to do it:

  • In Binance Wallet, go to wallet settings or security management to find "Approval Management" or "Approvals". Depending on the version, the entry may be under [Wallet] - [Security] - [Authorization Management].

  • In the approval list, locate the token and the corresponding contract address you want to modify.

  • Click "Revoke" and confirm the transaction (gas fee required). Once revoked, that contract no longer has any permission to access your tokens.

  • Return to the DApp and initiate the approval request again. This time, change the approval amount to the specific number you need in the signing popup.

When is it done: The old approval has been revoked and you have signed a new approval with a specific amount.

Prerequisite: Revoking an approval requires a gas fee. If the revocation fails, it is usually due to a gas fee set too low; increase it and try again.

Risk reminder: Revoking approval does not instantly make funds safe — until you revoke, the contract still has the right to move your assets. If you suspect the contract has been exploited, revoke it immediately.

How to Confirm the Operation Was Correct?

After modifying or re-approving, verify:

  1. Go back to the Binance Wallet "Approval Management" page, find the approval record for that contract, and confirm the displayed approval amount no longer shows "Unlimited".

  2. If the approval has been revoked, the record should no longer appear in the list.

  3. Next time you transact with that token, check the signing popup again to ensure the approval amount matches your expectations.

If you don't want to modify it manually each time, consider a batch strategy: distribute assets across multiple wallets and only approve the necessary amount, reducing the risk exposure of a single approval.
