When you use CNY to buy USDT on Binance, you are essentially using the P2P (C2C) market. The platform does not have a separate "buy with bank card" entrance. The "bank card payment" option you see is simply one of the payment methods inside a P2P trade.
First, understand the path – don't be misled by the names
Many people think "P2P" and "bank card" are two different things. In reality, they are part of the same process.
P2P (peer-to-peer) is the model: you find a merchant who has listed USDT for sale on the platform, pay them in CNY, and they release USDT to you.
Bank card is a payment tool: in this transaction flow, one of the ways you pay the merchant is by "bank transfer".
So when you open the Binance app, tap "Buy Crypto," and select USDT and CNY, which merchant you pick depends entirely on what payment methods they support – some accept bank cards, some accept Alipay or WeChat. There is no separate "buy crypto with bank card" entrance.
Compare the actual costs: P2P has a clear advantage
For buying USDT with CNY, P2P is the mainstream and the cheapest option. P2P trades charge no platform fee for buyers (Taker fee is 0%). The difference between the total amount you pay and the USDT you receive is simply the merchant's premium.
This premium usually floats between 0.3% and 0.8%, depending on the merchant's trading volume and reputation. In contrast, buying directly with a credit card or third-party payment platforms can cost 2.5% to over 8% in total, which is not cost-effective.
Choose a merchant based on amount and situation
Now that it is clear that P2P buying is the most cost-effective method, which payment method to choose depends mainly on your transaction amount and the merchant's details.
Case A: single transaction under 5,000 CNY. Using Alipay or WeChat is more convenient and arrives quickly. However, some merchants may add a slightly higher premium (around 0.2% – 0.4%) for these payment methods due to risk control.
Case B: single transaction over 5,000 CNY. Prioritize bank transfer. Large transfers have a relatively lower chance of triggering risk controls, and merchants accepting bank transfers usually offer more favorable prices. It is recommended to choose "Verified" or certified merchants with high trading volume and high completion rates.
Case C: very large amount (e.g., over 50,000 CNY). You can contact premium certified merchants directly and may get a small discount. Of course, for large transactions, pay even more attention to fund safety.
Risk reminder: P2P transactions are person-to-person transfers. There is a risk of receiving problematic funds that could cause your bank account to be frozen. Try to select merchants with high trading volume, high positive feedback rates, and a "Verified" badge. Such merchants usually offer fund safety guarantees, with compensation limits up to 50,000 USDT.
How to verify after completing the operation
After placing an order and making the payment, go to the order page in the Binance app, tap "I have paid, notify seller," and wait for the seller to release the USDT. Once received, check your "Funding Wallet" to confirm that the USDT balance has increased. When the status changes to "Completed," the transaction is successful.
Next steps after the transfer
After USDT arrives, it is in your "Funding Wallet" by default. If you want to trade (spot or futures), you need to transfer it first: click "Transfer" and move USDT from the "Funding Wallet" to the "Spot Wallet" or "Futures Wallet." This operation is free and instant. Additionally, during working hours on weekdays (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM), merchants are typically most active and quotes may be better.
