When transferring US stocks from Binance via DTC, the first thing you should do is not click "Submit." Instead, confirm two things with your receiving broker: whether it accepts DTC FOP transfers from Alpaca Securities, and whether it charges an incoming transfer fee. Binance charges 150 USDC per stock, deducted upon submission and non-refundable. The total cost is at least "Binance transfer fee + receiving broker fee." If you only look at the 150 USDC shown on the Binance page, you will miss the second half of the cost.

First Understand What You Hold: Do Not Treat bStock as Regular Stock for Transfer
Binance has two different paths for US stock-related products. One is directly held US stocks, and DTC transfer applies to this type. The other is bStock, which is on-chain tokenized stock. It is a BEP-20 token that can be withdrawn to a compatible BNB Smart Chain wallet, or redeemed 1:1 for the underlying stock and then transferred via DTC. If you see tokens with suffixes like TSLAB or NVDAB in your spot account, those are not stock positions that can be submitted for DTC transfer. First check the asset form in your wallet: only positions displayed as specific stocks with the entry under "Stock Transfer" are what this article covers.
Binance DTC Transfer Requirements and Fees
In Binance's official DTC transfer rules, several requirements can directly block your application:
Names must match exactly. The legal name on your Binance account must strictly match the legal name on your receiving broker account. Missing middle names or different abbreviations may cause rejection. DTC rules themselves do not allow third-party transfers, so using someone else's broker account or a corporate account to receive personal holdings will not work. If there is a name discrepancy, Binance allows you to submit a government-issued ID for verification, but this is a remedy, not a standard path.
Only whole shares can be transferred. Fractional shares are not eligible for DTC transfer. Each request can contain up to 50 stocks. Only one outgoing transfer request can be in progress at a time.
Fees are charged per stock, not per share count. Each stock costs 150 USDC, charged at submission. The official documentation clearly states that this fee is non-refundable whether the transfer is rejected, cancelled, or incomplete. Transferring 3 stocks costs 450 USDC. Transferring 1 share and 100 shares of the same stock costs the same. This fee structure means that for small positions, the fixed cost of DTC transfer will be proportionally very high.
Processing is batch-based. Transfer requests are processed in batches every Wednesday. Applications submitted from last Wednesday to this Tuesday go into the next Wednesday batch. From the processing Wednesday, allow at least 21 business days for completion, depending on the speed of both brokers. This is the full timeline from "Binance processing complete" to "receiving broker credited," not the next day after submission.
Actions on the Receiving Broker Side Are More Error-Prone Than on Binance
Binance does not directly participate in DTC settlement under its own name. It executes through Alpaca Securities LLC, with DTC clearing number 3021. When you submit a transfer-in request at your receiving broker, the "delivering party" information you need to fill in on their form is:
- Broker name: ALPACA SECURITIES LLC
- DTC clearing number: 3021
- Account number: your Binance UID
- Contact email:
This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. - Contact phone: N/A
This information comes from Binance's official page. However, the problem is that different receiving brokers have different fields on their transfer-in request forms. Some brokers support online DTC transfer-in submission, while others require email or fax. Some require you to upload a Binance account screenshot or statement, while others only need the form filled out. Before initiating a Binance transfer, you should first log in to your receiving broker, find the "Transfer In / DTC Transfer" entry, and see what they require. If the receiving broker explicitly does not accept FOP transfers from Alpaca, or requires ACATS (while Binance only supports DTC FOP), then this path simply does not work, and the 150 USDC submitted to Binance cannot be recovered.
Additionally, the receiving broker may charge an incoming transfer fee. This is outside Binance's control. Some brokers offer free DTC transfers in, while others charge per security. The total cost must include this item, not just compare against Binance's 150 USDC.
If the Receiving Broker Does Not Support DTC, Are There Other Options?
Yes, but it depends on your actual goal.
If your goal is to "turn the stock into a position that can be traded elsewhere," and the receiving broker does not support DTC transfers from Alpaca, a compromise path is: sell the stock on Binance, settle into USDC, and then withdraw through your usual fiat or stablecoin channel. The cost is trading fees and spread when selling, and it may trigger a taxable event depending on your tax residency status. The cost structure of this path is completely different. It is not a substitute for DTC transfer, but rather an alternative.
If your goal is to "withdraw bStock to an on-chain wallet," then DTC is not needed at all. bStock can be withdrawn directly to a compatible BNB Smart Chain address, following on-chain transfer logic. Fees and confirmation methods are unrelated to stock transfers between brokers. However, bStock is not the stock itself, and the receiving party must be an address that supports that token, not a broker account.
Pre-Submission Checklist
Before pressing submit on the Binance page, confirm in order:
1. Confirm the receiving broker can accept the transfer. Call or contact your receiving broker online: do they accept stock transfers via FOP from ALPACA SECURITIES LLC (DTC 3021)? Do they accept ID verification for name mismatches? What is the incoming transfer fee? Do not rely solely on help center articles, because "supports DTC transfer in" does not mean "supports transfers from Alpaca as the delivering party."
2. Compare names character by character. Open your Binance identity verification page and your receiving broker's profile page, and compare your legal full name side by side. Middle names, suffixes, spaces, order — any difference may cause rejection.
3. Confirm your position is in whole shares. Either round up fractional shares to whole shares first, or handle them on Binance. Do not submit a transfer with fractional shares included.
4. Keep enough USDC balance. The fee is deducted from your account, not from the stock. Insufficient balance may prevent the request from being submitted or cause it to enter an abnormal state.
5. Move forward on both sides simultaneously. After submitting the transfer on Binance, immediately submit the transfer-in request at your receiving broker. Do not wait for Binance to notify you that it has been "processed" before contacting the receiving broker. DTC transfers require manual coordination between both brokers, and one-sided waiting only prolongs the process.
After submission, check the status in Binance's "Stock Transfer" records and check the transfer-in request status at your receiving broker. Only when both sides show completion has the transfer truly arrived. Binance showing "Processing" or "Submitted" does not mean the stock has left. The receiving broker showing "Pending Receipt" does not mean it will be credited smoothly. The 21 business days is a reference value counted from the processing Wednesday, not a promise. If there is no progress on either side beyond this time, contact Binance customer service and your receiving broker separately, and include your Binance UID, transfer request ID, and stock ticker and quantity when inquiring.
