Brave Rewards BAT cannot currently be sent directly to Binance. BAT must first go into an intermediate account (a custodial wallet or your own Solana wallet), and then be transferred from there to Binance. There are two easily overlooked hurdles in this chain: KYC and Solana network fees. Below, we explain claiming, transferring out, and costs all at once.

First, Confirm Whether You Can Actually Earn BAT
Brave Rewards does not accumulate automatically just by opening the browser. Since 2023, you must connect a receiving account before BAT will start being credited. If you open Brave and only see ads but your balance never moves, chances are you have not connected an account.
There are two connection methods, and they determine completely different paths for sending BAT to Binance later:
Custodial account (Uphold, Gemini, bitFlyer): This is the traditional path. BAT is paid out by Brave into your custodial wallet every month, and the balance you see in the browser is the balance in your custodial account. The advantage of this method is that Uphold covers the on-chain gas fees, so you do not need to prepare SOL yourself. The trade-off is that you must complete Uphold's KYC identity verification first, otherwise your balance will be stuck inside and cannot be withdrawn.
Self-custody Solana wallet: Fully open since August 2025. BAT is sent directly to your Solana address in the form of a Wormhole-bridged token, with no intermediary custodian. This path does not require KYC, but your Solana wallet must already contain a small amount of SOL. Otherwise, you cannot even open the token account to receive BAT, and a missed payout will not be reissued. On Android, only Brave Wallet can be used, and iOS currently does not support self-custody payouts.
A simple way to decide: if you already have a KYC-verified Uphold account, the custodial route is more convenient and saves you the extra step of preparing gas. If you do not want to do KYC, or you happen to have a Solana wallet and a small amount of SOL, the self-custody route lets you skip the custodian.
Transferring from Uphold to Binance
If you use the Uphold custodial route, the transfer to Binance is done on Uphold's side, not inside the Brave browser.
- Open Uphold, find your BAT balance, and select "Transact" or "Send".
- Choose "Crypto Network" as the destination, not Uphold's internal coin-to-coin conversion. Otherwise, BAT will only become another asset inside your Uphold account and will never reach Binance.
- Select the asset you want to send. Sending BAT directly is not recommended because ERC-20 gas fees on the Ethereum mainnet are usually high and may eat up a significant portion of your rewards. A common low-cost method is to first convert BAT to XRP inside Uphold. XRP network withdrawal fees are extremely low, and Uphold charges about 0.0011 XRP for XRP withdrawals. Then send the XRP to Binance and convert it back into the asset you want to hold on Binance.
- Get the deposit address and memo for the corresponding asset on Binance. Taking XRP as an example, Binance XRP deposits require both an address and a memo (tag). Both must be filled in correctly. A wrong or missing memo may prevent automatic crediting and require a manual recovery process.
- Return to Uphold, fill in the address and memo, confirm the network matches, and submit after completing two-factor authentication.
Transferring from a Self-Custody Solana Wallet to Binance
If you use the self-custody route, BAT exists in your Solana wallet as an SPL token. There are two ways to transfer it to Binance:
Send BAT directly to Binance: First, get the BAT deposit address on Binance. Make sure to choose a network that supports BAT. Binance may offer ERC-20, BEP-20, and other versions at the same time, and the network must match your sending network. When initiating the transfer from your Solana wallet, you will need to spend a small amount of SOL as gas. The amount is not large, but it must be there. After it arrives, you can trade BAT directly on Binance.
Convert to USDT or another coin first, then transfer: If your BAT amount is very small, sending BAT directly to Binance and then selling it may not be worth the trouble of managing the BAT deposit network specifically for this transaction. You can swap BAT for USDT on a Solana DEX, and then transfer USDT over a network you are more familiar with, such as Solana or Tron. Sometimes this involves more steps, but each step has less friction. Which option to choose depends on how much BAT you hold and how familiar you are with Binance-supported networks.
Where the Costs Actually Come From
Brave side: The leg from Brave to your custodial account or self-custody wallet is usually free. In Uphold custodial mode, Brave pays out through Uphold, and gas is covered by Uphold. In self-custody mode, Brave pays out on Solana, where on-chain costs are extremely low, but you need to prepare SOL in advance to open the token account before receiving.
From your account to Binance: The cost of this leg depends on which asset you choose and which network you use. Sending ERC-20 BAT directly may incur high Ethereum gas fees. Converting to XRP and using the Ripple network costs close to zero. Solana network transfer costs are usually only a few cents. BAT itself is an ERC-20 token, but after being bridged to Solana via Wormhole, it is an SPL token. The two networks are different, and addresses cannot be mixed.
On the Binance side: Binance usually does not charge for deposits, but if you sell BAT after it arrives, there will be trading fees. That is beyond the scope of this article, and Binance's fee page has real-time data.
Completion Standard
For a successful transfer, the final standard is not that Uphold shows "Sent" or the Solana explorer shows "Confirmed", but that the asset you transferred appears in the corresponding Binance wallet and the deposit record shows as completed.
If Binance does not credit the deposit for a long time, first check three things: whether the sending network and the Binance deposit network are the same; whether the memo is filled in correctly for assets that require one, such as XRP; and whether the on-chain transaction has been confirmed. On-chain confirmation and Binance crediting are two separate steps. On-chain confirmation does not mean Binance has finished processing. If the on-chain transaction is confirmed, the network and memo are correct, but the deposit still has not arrived after a long time, prepare the on-chain transaction hash and contact Binance customer support.
An Easily Overlooked Time Factor
Brave BAT payouts are issued monthly, starting around the 7th of each month, and arrival times may be spread over several days. If you have just started using Brave Rewards, your first month's BAT will not be issued until the next payout cycle. This means the shortest cycle from "starting to view ads" to "BAT appearing on Binance" may be several weeks rather than several hours. If you need BAT on Binance for a specific purpose, such as a token sale or trading, leave room for this timing.
