Binance Deposit Not Credited from Smart Contract Address: Can You Recover It via Self-Service?
Yes, but with strict conditions. If the deposit funds come from a smart contract call (rather than a regular transfer), Binance's system may not automatically recognize it, and you need to go through the self-service recovery process – provided the on-chain transaction status is "Confirmed/Successful" and the deposit address actually belongs to your Binance account.

1. First, Understand: Why Doesn't Binance Recognize "Deposits Initiated by Smart Contracts"?
Many users think "the transaction is on-chain and confirmed, so the funds should be credited," but Binance identifies deposits not simply by "seeing an incoming transaction to an address and crediting it."
Binance's deposit addresses are essentially wallet addresses managed by the platform. When a transfer is initiated by a regular Externally Owned Account (EOA), the platform can parse and credit it normally. However, when funds are sent via a smart contract call (e.g., from smart wallets like Ambire or Gnosis Safe, or via cross-chain bridges or DeFi contracts), Binance's system may identify it as an "internal transaction" or "contract call" rather than a standard deposit transaction.
The Ambire wallet officially states that many centralized exchanges, including Binance and Coinbase, do not automatically recognize native token contract deposits, and transfers from smart wallets may not appear in your assets. This is because the platform's wallet system primarily monitors direct address-to-address transfers, not complex contract call logs.
2. Two Prerequisites for Eligibility
Not all "contract deposit" cases can be recovered. The conditions for using Binance's self-service recovery feature are very clear:
Condition 1: The on-chain transaction status must be "Confirmed/Successful"
If the transaction shows "unconfirmed" or "failed" on the blockchain explorer, Binance cannot process it. You need to resolve the on-chain transaction issue first.
Condition 2: The funds were deposited into a Binance account under your own name
The self-service recovery feature is only for transactions that "deposited into your own Binance account." If you sent the money to someone else's Binance address, or to an address not managed by Binance, this route won't work.
3. Practical: Step-by-Step Self-Service Recovery
If you meet all the above conditions and the deposit has not been credited after more than 1 hour, you can follow the official self-service process.
Step 1: Find the TxID (Transaction Hash) of this transaction
What to do: Locate the TxID of this transfer on the platform or wallet from which you sent the funds.
How to do it: A TxID is the unique identifier for each transaction on the blockchain. If the transaction was sent from a smart wallet, you can find it in that wallet's transaction history, or query it directly on a block explorer using the wallet address.
When it's done: You have copied the TxID of this transaction.
Step 2: Go to Binance's Self-Service Recovery Page and Submit the TxID
What to do: Log in to your Binance account and visit the self-service recovery function page.
How to do it:
Paste your TxID and click submit.
If the system can recognize the transaction, the coin, network, deposit address, and amount will be auto-filled. Verify them and submit.
If the system cannot recognize it, you need to manually fill in the coin, deposit network/address, deposit amount, etc. Note: the amount can have up to 8 decimal places; remove all separators.
When it's done: The page shows a successful submission and generates an application record.
Step 3: Provide Additional Supporting Materials as Required
What to do: Check the review status in the application record, and provide any additional information if the system requests it.
How to do it: You may be asked to record a video to prove the authenticity of the deposit transaction, or to provide transaction records from the sending platform (including the TxID).
When it's done: All supplementary materials have been submitted, and you are waiting for the Binance team to process them.

4. Processing Time and Fees
Processing time and fees vary for different types of erroneous deposits:
Smart Retrieval
If the system shows a "Retrieve Now" button in your deposit record, you meet the "Smart Retrieval" conditions. This is a fast track for unlisted tokens, with a processing time of up to 14 business days and a fixed fee of 1 USDT.
Depositing Unlisted Tokens via a Supported Network (Standard Path)
If you do not meet the Smart Retrieval conditions, the standard manual process applies, with an estimated time of 30 business days and a fee of 20 USDT.
Note: The recovery application timer starts after Binance receives the required information and fee, not from the submission date. 100% success is not guaranteed; technical complexity, development resources, and other factors may affect the final result.
Prerequisite: You are logged into your Binance account, and it is the same account that was the deposit target. You cannot operate if not logged in or if the account status is abnormal.
Common reasons for failure: The transaction was not actually initiated by you, or the deposit address is not your own Binance account address; you deposited a token that has been delisted or is not supported by Binance, and it does not meet Smart Retrieval conditions; the submitted application information is inconsistent with the on-chain record (e.g., wrong coin or network entered).
Risk reminder: Binance processes approximately 4,000 recovery applications per month, recovering around 7 million USDT worth of assets, but this is not insurance – it does not mean every case will succeed. If Binance decides not to support the recovery of a certain token, the funds will remain in the on-chain address and be inaccessible. Additionally, if your transaction comes from complex contract calls such as "cross-chain bridges" or "DeFi aggregators," proving ownership becomes significantly more difficult and the processing time will be longer.
How to confirm you are on the right track after completing the above?
After submitting the self-service recovery application, go to your Binance [Deposit History] and check if the transaction status changes from "Processing" to "Completed". If there is a "Retrieve Now" button in the system, click it directly to use Smart Retrieval – this is the fastest path. If there is no progress after more than two weeks, contact Binance online customer support using the ticket number from your application record, providing the TxID to follow up on the review status.
