Why a Token Deposit with the Same Name Still Isn’t Credited on Binance

"Same name" doesn't mean "same contract address". Binance doesn't recognize token names; it only recognizes contract addresses. If the contract address of the token you deposited is not on Binance's listing list, the deposit will not be credited even if the name is identical.

Another common reason for a deposit not arriving is providing the wrong Tag or Memo, which prevents the system from routing the funds to your account.

Prerequisites

  1. You have verified on a blockchain explorer that the transaction status is "Success".

  2. You have the transaction hash (TxID) of this deposit.

  3. You are logged into your Binance account.

Step 1: Verify the token's contract address on a blockchain explorer

Copy your TxID and paste it into the relevant block explorer (Etherscan for ERC-20, BscScan for BEP-20). On the transaction details page, find the Token Contract address corresponding to the "To" address. Note down this address.

Completion standard: You have obtained the contract address of the token you actually deposited.

Step 2: Check the official contract address on the Binance deposit page

Open the Binance App or website, go to [Wallet] → [Deposit], search for the coin you intended to deposit, and select the corresponding network. The page usually displays the contract address of that coin on the chosen network. Compare this address character by character with the address obtained in Step 1.

Scenario A: The two addresses match exactly

  • This means the contract address is correct and is beyond the scope of this article. Please proceed with the standard "Deposit Not Credited" self-recovery process.

Scenario B: The two addresses do not match

  • This means you deposited a token that Binance does not support. The name is the same, but the contract is different—the platform cannot recognize and credit it.

Completion standard: Confirmed whether the two contract addresses match.

Step 3: Confirm whether an incorrect Tag/Memo caused the deposit not to be credited

If the token you deposited requires a Tag or Memo (e.g., BNB, XRP, XLM, ATOM), you must fill in the corresponding identifier on the deposit page. If the Tag or Memo is missing or incorrect, the funds will not be automatically credited.

Check the transaction details on the blockchain explorer to see if the transaction includes the correct Tag/Memo.

Completion standard: Ruled out the possibility of a Tag/Memo error.

Step 4: Submit a request using the self-service recovery tool

If you confirm that you deposited an unsupported token, or that the Tag/Memo was missing or incorrect, you can submit a recovery request through the self-service tool.

  1. Log in to your Binance account and visit the [Deposit Self-Service Recovery] page (find the entry by searching the Help Center).

  2. Paste the TxID and click [Submit].

  3. If the system recognizes the transaction, the coin, network, and other details will be auto-filled; check them and submit. If not, manually enter the coin, deposit network, deposit address, and deposit amount.

  4. Follow the on-screen prompts; you may need to provide additional materials—such as recording a video to prove the authenticity of the deposit transaction, or providing the transaction record from the withdrawing platform.

Completion standard: The page displays "Submission successful" and you obtain an application record number.

Step 5: Wait for review and pay the handling fee

After submission, check the status under [Application Records]. If the recovery is successful, Binance will deduct a handling fee. Please note that there is no guarantee of a 100% successful recovery, and the platform does not commit to supporting recovery services for all types of tokens.

Completion standard: Funds credited to your account, or a rejection notice received.

Common reasons for failure

Depositing a delisted or removed token

If the coin you deposited was previously delisted by Binance, such transactions will also not be automatically credited and must be processed through the self-service recovery tool.

Risk reminder

  • Recovery is not guaranteed: For deposits of unlisted tokens, Binance will decide at its discretion whether to assist and does not commit to a 100% recovery.

  • Long processing time: Such issues usually require manual intervention and may take days to weeks; complex cases may exceed 14 business days.

  • Always verify the contract before depositing: On the Binance deposit page, make sure you can search for the coin and select the corresponding network, and that the deposit button is available—if you cannot search for the coin, it is not supported.

How to confirm the operation is complete

After submitting the self-service request, check the status in [Application Records]. When the status changes to "Processed" and the funds are credited to your Binance account, the operation is complete.

If the request is rejected, review the rejection reason (e.g., "Transaction not within support scope", "Already credited") and re-verify your situation based on the prompt.
