Step 1: Verify the exact ownership status of the phone number on Binance
Don't rush to reset your password. First clarify the status.
Situation A: The phone number receives verification codes, but after login it says "Account does not exist" or "Not registered" This means your phone number is indeed not linked to any Binance account. No matching record in the system. You might have registered with an email address or a different phone number. What to do: Try logging in with your linked email. If that also fails, go through the "Forgot Account" appeal process, upload your ID and a video of yourself holding your ID, and let customer support find all accounts under your name.
Situation B: The phone number receives verification codes, login says "Account already exists", but you never registered This usually happens if you just got a new number that was recycled. The previous owner used it to register on Binance. The Binance official community has stated clearly that if the original owner didn't unbind the number, the new owner cannot re-register with it. What to do: There is no workaround. You need to register with an email, or contact customer support to request unbinding the old association. But note, support will not unbind easily—you'll need to provide proof of number ownership (network access certificate, real-name info, etc.).
Situation C: The phone number receives verification codes, login shows "Wrong password" or "Account locked" This means the number is linked to an account, but the account has issues. Possibly multiple wrong password attempts triggered risk control, or the account was temporarily suspended. What to do: Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and reset using the phone number. If "Security verification unavailable" appears, go through the manual review process, submitting your ID and a selfie video for verification.
Risk warning: If your phone number is recycled and the previous owner completed identity verification on Binance, you will never be able to register or log into that original account with this number. After completing the steps
Verification method: After successfully logging in, immediately go to [Security Center] - [Device Management] to check the list of logged-in devices. If you find any unfamiliar device, kick it out immediately.
Next step: Check if 2FA (two-factor authentication) is enabled on your account. If only phone number verification is protecting you, it's strongly recommended to bind Google Authenticator.
