Can Binance Accounts Registered with Email and Phone Number Be Merged?
No. Binance does not support merging two independent accounts (one registered with an email, the other with a phone number) into a single account so that all assets, order history, and KYC information are consolidated under one login.
A single identity document (KYC) can only be linked to one Binance account. Email and phone number are two login methods for the same account, not two separate accounts. If you registered two accounts using an email address and a phone number separately, they are fundamentally two independent accounts and cannot be merged.
Step 1: Distinguish Between "Merging Accounts" and "Binding Two-Factor Authentication"
This is the easiest part to confuse.
What is "binding two-factor authentication": In the same account's [Security Settings], you can bind both an email and a phone number. After binding, you can log in with either your email or your phone number—they are two login credentials for the same account.
What is "merging two accounts": You registered one account with Email A and another account with Phone Number B, and you want to combine the assets and order records of the two accounts into one—this is not supported. Binance does not offer this feature.
When is this step complete: You have clearly identified whether you want to "add a login method to your current account" or "merge two accounts into one."
Step 2: If You Want to Bind Both Email and Phone Number in the Same Account
What to do: If your current account only has one login method, you can bind the other as a backup.
How to do it:
Log into your Binance account and go to [Security Center].
If the account was registered with an email, find the [Phone Binding] option, enter your phone number, and complete the SMS verification.
If the account was registered with a phone number, find the [Email Binding] option, enter your email, and complete the email verification.
After binding, you can log into this account using either your email or phone number.
When is this step complete: The [Security Center] shows both "Email Verified" and "Phone Verified" status.
Step 3: If You Have Two Accounts and Want to Transfer Assets from One to the Other
What to do: Since merging is impossible, the only way is to transfer assets from one account to the other via "withdrawal/transfer."
How to do it:
Log into the account you plan to abandon → initiate a withdrawal → enter the deposit address of the other account.
Confirm the address is correct and submit the transfer. Note: This is an on-chain transfer that will incur network fees and requires selecting the correct network.
After the assets arrive, confirm that the abandoned account has a zero balance, and you can stop using it.
When is this step complete: All assets have been transferred to the main account, and the secondary account balance is zero.
Common Reasons for Failure
Mistakenly thinking that "merging" is a single button in security settings—Binance does not have such a feature. So-called "merge steps" from third parties are usually misleading or refer to derived wallet operations in Web3 wallets, which have nothing to do with merging exchange accounts.
Attempting to bind a phone number already tied to another account—A phone number or email cannot be bound across multiple accounts; one phone number can only be bound to one Binance account.
Confusing "derived accounts" in Web3 Wallet with exchange accounts—The Binance Web3 Wallet supports deriving multiple wallet addresses from one seed phrase, but that is a method for managing on-chain wallets, not for merging exchange accounts.
Risk Reminder
On-chain transfers are irreversible, and sending to the wrong address is very difficult to recover. Before proceeding, test with a small amount first.
You do not need to actively close a secondary account that is no longer in use, but make sure the same identity document (KYC) is not used on multiple accounts. Binance's rules require one person to have only one account. If the system detects multiple accounts under the same identity, it may trigger risk controls.
How to Confirm You Have Correctly Understood
Open [Security Center] and check whether both "Email" and "Phone Number" are bound to the account you normally use.
If you have two accounts and the assets have been transferred to your main account, making the secondary account balance zero—that is the best course of action when "merging is not possible."
