Binance Email Not Working but Phone Number Still Active: How to Keep Your Original Account Login
If your email is unusable but your phone number still works, you can absolutely keep your original account and continue logging in. The key move is to change your linked email, not to re-register — Binance prohibits multiple accounts per person; re-registering will result in both accounts being frozen.

1. First, Determine: Can You Still Log In Normally?
Step 1: Confirm your current login status
What to do: Determine whether you are "already logged in but cannot receive verification codes via email" or "completely unable to log in".
How to do it:
Scenario A (already logged in, just not receiving emails): Go directly to Step 2 and change your email in settings.
Scenario B (not logged in, needs email verification code to get in): Skip to Step 3 and use the "Security verification unavailable?" process.
When is it done: You clearly know whether you can currently log into the app or website.
Prerequisite: You remember your account password. If you've forgotten it, reset your password first (withdrawal function will be locked for 48 hours after reset).
2. Scenario A: Already Logged In — Change Email Directly in Security Center
If you can still access your account, this is the fastest way.
Step 2: Change the linked email in Security Center
What to do: Go to the Security Center and modify the bound email address.
How to do it:
After logging into Binance, click the profile icon in the top right corner → 【Security Center】.
Find 【Email Management】 or 【Email Address】, and click 【Change】.
Enter a new email address. The system will send a verification email to the new address — click the link in the email to complete verification.
Return to the app or website, enter your current transaction password to confirm and submit.
When is it done: The new email is verified, the old email is immediately unbound and can no longer be used for login or account recovery.
Important reminder: After changing your email, the withdrawal function will be temporarily disabled. Binance.US locks withdrawals for 120 hours (5 days), while Binance global is 48 hours. This is a security mechanism, not an anomaly — it will be restored automatically once the time is up.

3. Scenario B: Not Logged In — Use "Security Verification Unavailable" Process
If you can't log in right now, you'll need to use your phone number as identity proof to request an email change from the system.
Step 3: Trigger "Security verification unavailable?" on the login page
What to do: After entering your account credentials, select "Security verification unavailable?" at the verification step.
How to do it:
Visit the official Binance website, click 【Log In】, and enter your account and password.
On the 2FA verification page, find and click 【Security verification unavailable?】 or a similar link.
The system will ask you to select the unavailable verification method — check 【Email】.
Click 【Confirm Reset】.
When is it done: The system enters the reset process and begins asking you to verify your identity through other means.
Step 4: Verify identity with your phone number
What to do: Use your still-working phone number to receive an SMS verification code, proving you are the account owner.
How to do it: The system will prompt you to enter a new phone number and/or email address. Since your phone number is still usable, you can directly use it to receive the verification code and complete verification at this step.
When is it done: Verification passes and you proceed to set up a new email.
Step 5: Submit the email change application and wait for review
What to do: Submit a request to change your email.
How to do it: Enter a new, working email address. The system will send a verification code or link to the new email. Confirm and submit after verifying.
When is it done:
Scenario A (automatic approval): The change takes effect immediately. The new email can be used for login, and the old email is invalidated.
Scenario B (manual review): The page shows "Under review", usually processed within 24-72 hours. Once approved, you will be notified via the new email. Do not submit duplicate applications during the review period.
Risk reminder: If you reset security devices through the "Security verification unavailable" process, functions like withdrawals, C2C selling, and internal transfers will be restricted for up to 48 hours. This is Binance's risk-control protection period, not a permanent account lock. In addition, if you can't receive verification codes on your phone either, you'll have to go through the full manual review process — you'll need to submit KYC ID photos and a video holding your ID, and customer support will reply within 72 hours.
After completing the above steps, how do you confirm the issue is resolved?
Log in to Binance once with your new email and your original password. If you can log in successfully and the bound email in "Security Center" has been updated to the new email, the operation is complete. Next, do a "receive notification" test with the new email — send a test verification code or modify a security setting on Binance to confirm that the new email can receive system emails normally. Then keep an eye on the withdrawal function unlock time, and resume large transactions after the restriction is lifted.
