How to Fix the 'Below Minimum Quantity' Error on Binance Grid Bots
This warning means your per-grid order amount is below Binance's minimum notional value requirement—usually at least 10 USDT per order. The fix isn't to change the system-fixed "minimum quantity" parameter, but to adjust total investment, number of grids, or grid type so the recalculated quantity per grid meets the minimum requirement.

Step 1: Check the specific value in the error and your current configuration
Goal: Open the grid creation page that triggered the error and confirm the exact rule that's restricting you.
On the manual grid creation page, look near the upper/lower price limit parameters. Both Binance spot grid and futures grid display "Min Qty" and "Min Notional" for that trading pair.
For spot grids, "Min Notional" is usually 10 USDT, meaning each order's value must be at least 10 USD. Futures grids have a similar threshold.
The core reason for the grid error isn't a wrong quantity you entered, but the combination of total investment, number of grids, and price range causes the allocated amount per grid to fall below the Min Notional.
Completion: You confirm that the limiting condition is "per-grid amount < Min Notional", not that the order quantity itself is too small.
Key reminder: Don't confuse "per-grid amount" with "order quantity". The system first calculates how much money each grid gets, then converts it into quantity based on price. The error stems from insufficient capital allocation, not a tiny quantity.
Step 2: Increase total investment—the most direct fix
Goal: On the grid creation interface, increase the "Total Investment" so each grid gets more funds.
Formula: Ensure Total Investment ÷ Number of Grids ≥ Min Notional × 1.3.
Example: Min Notional is 10 USDT, grid count is 20. Total investment must be at least 20 × 10 × 1.3 = 260 USDT. The 30% buffer covers fees and price fluctuation deviations.
For futures grids, minimum investment calculations are more complex due to leverage and margin, but the principle is the same: each grid's allocated capital must meet the threshold.
Completion: After adjusting, the preview page no longer shows the "below minimum quantity" error.
Step 3: Reduce the number of grids—alternative if you don't want to add funds
Goal: If you don't want to invest more, reduce the grid count to boost per-grid capital.
The more grids, the less money each grid gets. Reducing the grid count instantly increases the allocated amount per grid.
Futures grids can have 2–149 grids, but it's advisable not to go below 10; otherwise, grid spacing becomes too wide, trading frequency drops, and profit potential suffers.
Completion: After reducing grids, per-grid amount ≥ Min Notional and the error disappears.
Step 4: Check if trailing up/down is causing higher capital requirements
Goal: If you enabled trailing up or down, check whether your current funds still meet the running requirement.
Trailing up/down moves the grid range with price. After each move, every grid must hold the same notional value at the new price points.
If price rises sharply, the notional value could exceed the maximum position value allowed by your leverage, causing the bot to stop. This may appear as a similar insufficient funds error.
Completion: Confirm you've disabled trailing up/down, or verify that it won't trigger additional funding needs during operation.
Prerequisites
Before adjusting, make sure you're using the Binance website; some advanced parameters may be limited on the app. Also confirm you're logged in and can access [Trade] - [Trading Bots] - [Spot Grid] or [Futures Grid].
Common reasons for failure
Mistakenly thinking you can manually change "Min Notional": Min Notional is a fixed trading pair parameter set by platform rules and cannot be adjusted by users.
Confusing "minimum quantity" with "minimum order quantity per grid": Binance automatically calculates the per-grid order quantity based on total investment and number of grids; it is not a user-defined value.
Not leaving room for fees: The system already deducts estimated fees when calculating allocatable funds. If your amount is just barely at the Min Notional threshold, the actual usable funds may dip slightly below.

Risk warning
Capital risk: Increasing total investment means larger market exposure. If the price drops continuously in a one-sided move, the grid may execute dense buys near the bottom, leading to significant unrealized losses.
Account risk: When using leverage in futures grids, ensure the notional value per grid does not exceed leverage limits. If the price breaks the upper limit and trailing up is enabled, the notional value could surpass the cap, causing the strategy to be forcibly terminated.
A successful fix: On the grid creation preview page, all grid orders show "Can be Created" with no red warnings or error messages. After clicking "Create", the system generates the grid order list, and the running status shows an active strategy. Later, if you need to stop loss or terminate, you can check transaction and fee records in [Orders] - [Trading Bot Orders].
