Binance First Withdrawal? 4 Checks Before a Small Test Transaction

Making a large transfer right away is gambling. Binance's required "Satoshi Test" lets you send a tiny amount first to verify the address ownership and network. Before moving large funds, do these 4 checks with a small amount—this is the most useful thing you can do.

Step 1: Double-Check the Destination Address and Network—Every Character Matters

[What to do] Confirm the withdrawal address and the chosen network match exactly. [How to do it] Check the wallet address prefix (e.g., BTC addresses start with 1, 3, or bc1). The network selection must match the receiving wallet's supported network. For USDT, common networks are TRC-20, ERC-20, or BEP-20. Choosing the wrong network will permanently lose your funds. [Completion standard] The withdrawal page shows "Address saved" or the system auto-matches the network.

Common failure reasons: Missing a character when copying the address, or selecting the wrong network (e.g., using a BSC address as an Ethereum address). Choosing the wrong network is like throwing money into a black hole—Binance support can hardly ever recover it.

Step 2: Check the Minimum Withdrawal Amount and Fee

[What to do] Find the minimum withdrawal and estimated network fee for the coin. [How to do it] Binance's withdrawal page will automatically show the minimum amount and fee. For USDT on TRC-20, the minimum is 10 USDT, with a 1 USDT fee. Make sure your balance exceeds "minimum withdrawal + fee". [Completion standard] The "Estimated arrival" field shows normally, without "insufficient balance" or "below minimum" errors.

Step 3: Complete the "Satoshi Test" to Verify Address Ownership (If Required)

[What to do] If the system prompts "Address verification required," send a tiny test transaction. [How to do it] Send a very small amount (like 0.00001 BTC) to the destination address. After confirming receipt on the other platform or wallet, record the transaction hash (TxID). [Completion standard] The destination address status changes from "Unverified" to "Verified," or the system allows you to continue with the withdrawal.

High-risk warning: If the recipient is a self-custodial wallet (like MetaMask), Binance will require a Satoshi test to prove you own the private key. Forcing a large withdrawal without verification may lock or lose your funds if the address is wrong or ownership can't be proven.

Step 4: Withdraw a Small Amount First, Confirm Receipt, Then Send the Large Amount

[What to do] The first real withdrawal should be the minimum amount. [How to do it] Withdraw the minimum (e.g., 10 USDT) to the destination address. After withdrawal, copy the TxID and look it up on the relevant blockchain explorer (like Tronscan) to check confirmations. For BTC, at least 2 confirmations; for ETH/ERC-20, at least 12 confirmations are safe. [Completion standard] The receiving wallet balance has increased by that small amount, and the blockchain explorer shows the transaction status as "Success."

Verification method after completion: Once the small withdrawal succeeds, add the address to Binance's withdrawal whitelist. For later large transfers, simply select the whitelisted address—this greatly reduces the risk of mistakes. If you can't find the small transaction's TxID on the Binance withdrawal page, it might be an internal transfer rather than an on-chain transaction.
