What to Do When the Same Deposit Record Appears Twice on Binance?

The most common reason for a duplicate deposit record is that you imported the same transaction data twice using both API and CSV. The actual balance is not doubled—only the record is shown twice. First, verify whether the total balance is correct. If the balance is normal, it's just a duplicate record. If the balance has also doubled, contact customer support immediately.

Step 1: Check the Balance First—Don't Be Fooled by the Record

When you see a duplicated record, your first reaction should be to verify the balance, not to panic. In your Binance account, the same TxID will only be credited once, but the transaction history may show duplicate entries due to API syncing or display issues.

How to check:

  1. Open the Binance App → "Wallet" → "Spot Account"
  2. Check the total balance of that specific coin
  3. Do the math: If the duplicate record truly represented two deposits, the balance would have doubled. If the balance is normal, it means only the record is duplicated, and the funds themselves are not affected.

What counts as done: You have confirmed whether the total balance has been "inflated" by the duplicate record.

Step 2: Verify the TxID to See If It's the Same Transaction

In the Binance App, go to "Wallet" → "Transaction History". Each record has a unique transaction hash (TxID).

  1. Find the two records that appear to be duplicates
  2. Check if their TxIDs are identical
  3. Open a corresponding blockchain explorer (such as BSCScan or Etherscan), paste the TxID and check the on-chain status

If the same TxID appears twice, it is a duplicate record and not a duplicate fund. If the TxIDs are different but the amounts and times are similar, they might be two independent transactions—use the blockchain explorer to confirm whether each was successfully credited.

What counts as done: You have confirmed whether the two records share the same TxID and whether the on-chain status is "Success".

Step 3: Handle Based on the Scenario

Scenario A – Duplicate record but balance is normal (same TxID)

  • This is a display issue and does not affect fund security
  • Check if you have imported transaction records using both API and CSV at the same time—mixing the two import methods often causes duplicate entries
  • Refresh the account page or log out and log back in. The duplicate record will usually disappear

Scenario B – Two records with different TxIDs and the balance has increased

  • This situation is extremely rare and may involve a system error
  • Do not move the funds—first contact Binance customer support to verify the actual deposit situation
  • Submit a ticket through the Help Center and attach the TxIDs and screenshots of both records

Scenario C – One record shows "Pending" and the other "Completed"

  • The same deposit appears once in each status. Once the on-chain confirmation is complete, the pending record will automatically disappear
  • Simply wait; no manual intervention is needed

What counts as done: You have taken the corresponding action based on your situation.

Common Causes of Failure

  • Mixing API and CSV imports: When you import transaction data into a third-party tool using both API and CSV at the same time, the same record may appear twice. It is recommended to use only one import method.
  • Page not refreshed: During the deposit process, repeatedly refreshing the page may temporarily display two records. The display returns to normal after a refresh.
  • Display overlap due to address migration: When Binance deactivates old deposit addresses, records from the old address and the new address may both appear in the wallet history, making them look like duplicates.

Risk Reminder

  • If it is Scenario B (the balance has genuinely increased), do not actively transfer the funds out—the system may correct the amount later, and forcing a withdrawal could trigger risk control.
  • Binance official staff will never ask for your password or verification code because of a "duplicate deposit". Anyone privately messaging you claiming to be customer support is a scammer.

Confirm whether the total balance is normal. If the balance has not increased and it is only a duplicate record, refreshing the page or logging out and back in usually solves the issue. If the balance has truly doubled, immediately contact customer support through the Help Center, attaching the TxIDs and balance screenshots of the two records.
