How to Determine When Your Linea Deposit Arrives on Binance

The key to judging the arrival time of a Linea deposit to Binance lies in the two states of Linea transaction confirmation: Soft Finality and Hard Finality. Centralized exchanges like Binance usually require transactions to reach Hard Finality before crediting, and the current median Hard Finality time on Linea is about 2 hours.

1. First, confirm the transaction status: Soft Finality vs. Hard Finality

What to do: Use the transaction hash to check the current confirmation status of this deposit transaction on the Linea blockchain explorer.

How to do: Linea is a Layer 2 blockchain, and transaction confirmation is divided into two phases:

  • Soft Finality: The transaction is included in an L2 block by the sequencer, completed within approximately 1 second. At this point the transaction is confirmed on Linea and visible in your wallet. This is sufficient for on-chain application interactions, but Binance will not credit the deposit at this stage.

  • Hard Finality: The zero-knowledge proof is verified on Ethereum L1, and the transaction is officially anchored to the Ethereum mainnet. The current median time is about 2 hours, but should not exceed 16 hours. Binance deposits require this stage to be reached for crediting.

What counts as completion: You can see the transaction status on the explorer, and determine whether it is currently in "Soft Finality" (not yet on L1) or "Hard Finality" (finally confirmed on Ethereum).

Prerequisites: You have obtained the TxID of this transaction from the sending platform, and the platform shows "Completed".

Common failure reason: Refreshing Binance 10 minutes after sending the money and seeing no deposit, then getting anxious. The current median Hard Finality time on Linea is about 2 hours; this is determined by the technical nature, not Binance holding your funds.

2. Check Binance's Linea network status

What to do: While waiting for Hard Finality, confirm that Binance's Linea deposit channel is currently open and normal.

How to do: Binance listed LINEA spot trading on September 11, 2025, and the deposit channel opened on September 9, 2025 at 22:00 (UTC+8). Since then, the LINEA deposit channel has been operating normally.

Access Binance's "Deposit & Withdrawal Status" page to confirm that the Linea network currently shows "Normal". Binance does not require deposits to reach Ethereum L1 final confirmation before crediting — typically Hard Finality is sufficient. If the Linea network status shows "Congested" or "Suspended", the arrival time will be extended.

What counts as completion: You have confirmed that Binance's Linea network status is "Normal", ruling out the possibility that the platform has actively suspended the channel.

Prerequisites: Able to log into your Binance account, check the Linea deposit channel status in [Funds] - [Deposit History].

Common failure reason: Binance has integrated Linea network deposits and withdrawals, but if you selected the wrong network during deposit (e.g., ERC20 instead of Linea mainnet), the transaction may travel through a completely different network, and the arrival time will not follow Linea characteristics, or the funds may never arrive. Verify that the network selected on the deposit page is "Linea".

3. Judge deposit progress based on time windows

What to do: Based on the time elapsed after submission, compare with Linea's technical characteristics to determine the current progress.

How to do:

Time pointExpected statusWhat to do
Within 1 second to 1 minute after submissionTransaction reaches Soft Finality, confirmed on-chainSee transaction record on Linea explorer, but Binance has not yet processed it
15–30 minutes after submissionProof generation in progressWait, no additional actions needed during this phase
About 2 hours after submissionHard Finality reached, Binance starts creditingCheck Binance deposit history; usually credited within this window
Over 4 hours after submission and still not creditedBeyond normal rangeSubmit a "Deposit not credited" request in Binance Help Center

Linea team has planned to reduce the Hard Finality time from about 2 hours to within 30 minutes by mid-2026, thanks to proof performance improvements, but the current stable version still uses 2 hours as reference. Hard Finality should not exceed 16 hours under any circumstances.

What counts as completion: You have judged which stage the transaction should be in based on the submitted time, and you know whether to wait or contact customer service.

Prerequisites: Steps 1 and 2 completed.

Risk reminder: If the deposit still hasn't arrived after more than 16 hours and the explorer shows the transaction has reached Hard Finality, this is an abnormal situation. Contact Binance customer service with the TxID.

4. Wallet check, network confirmation and customer service communication

What to do: After Hard Finality is achieved, make the final confirmation on Binance.

How to do:

  1. Confirm Hard Finality: On the Linea explorer, confirm that the transaction status has reached Hard Finality.

  2. Check Binance deposit history: Go to [Funds] - [Deposit History] and see the crediting status of that record.

  3. If still not credited:

    • Confirm Binance's Linea network deposit channel is normal.

    • Verify the deposit address is correct.

    • Submit a support ticket.

What counts as completion: The Binance spot wallet shows a LINEA balance, and the amount matches the transferred quantity.

Next step: If you just submitted a LINEA deposit today, the first thing to do is: open the Linea explorer, note the timestamp of the transaction submission. Then add 2 hours — that's the estimated arrival time window. No need to repeatedly refresh the Binance page before that. If the 2-hour window passes without arrival, then bring the TxID to Binance's "Deposit not credited" channel and submit a request.
