TAO Not Credited After Transfer to Binance? How to Check

If your TAO deposit to Binance hasn't arrived, first check the transaction status on a Subtensor blockchain explorer using the TxID. If the on-chain status shows "Success" but Binance doesn't display it, it's usually because the Bittensor network (Subtensor) address format differs from Ethereum EVM addresses — when depositing, you must convert the Binance-provided 0x address to SS58 format to match.

1. Find the TxID for This Transfer From the Sending Platform

What to do: Go back to the platform (wallet or exchange) where you initiated the TAO transfer and copy the transaction's TxID (transaction hash).

How:

Case A: Withdrawal from another exchange. Log in to the withdrawal platform, open the withdrawal history, find the TAO transfer, and copy the TxID. TAO withdrawals usually go through the Bittensor mainnet (Subtensor).

Case B: Transfer from an on-chain wallet. Open your TAO wallet (such as the TAO.com App or Taoxyz browser extension), find the transaction record for this transfer, and copy the TxID.

Completion criteria: You have the TxID for this transaction.

Prerequisites: You can log in to the sending platform normally.

Common failure reasons: The transaction hasn't been confirmed on-chain yet when you check. If the sending platform shows "Processing" instead of "Completed," the transaction hasn't been packaged yet; just wait.

2. Check the Transaction Status on a Subtensor Blockchain Explorer

What to do: Use the TxID to check the real on-chain status of this transfer on a Bittensor (Subtensor) blockchain explorer. TAO is not an ERC20 token and cannot be checked on Etherscan.

How:

Open a Subtensor block explorer (such as tao.bot or the explorer feature on TAO.app) and paste the TxID.

Look for key information:

  • Status: Must be Success for the on-chain confirmation to be considered successful.

  • Confirmations: Binance usually requires a certain number of block confirmations before crediting. If the confirmation count is low, it's still in the queue; just wait.

  • Receiving address: Check whether it matches the TAO deposit address you copied from Binance. Note that the deposit address provided by Binance is usually an EVM-style address starting with 0x, whereas what you see in Substrate wallets is an SS58 format address (starting with 5).

Completion criteria: You have confirmed on the Subtensor explorer that the status is "Success" and the receiving address is correct.

Prerequisites: You obtained the TxID in Step 1.

Common failure reasons: Using Etherscan to look up a TAO transaction. TAO is the native token of the Bittensor network, running on the Subtensor blockchain, which is a completely different chain from Ethereum.

3. Check Binance Deposit History and Network Status

What to do: If the explorer shows Success and there are enough confirmations, but your Binance account still hasn't been credited, check your Binance deposit history and network status.

How:

  1. In the Binance App, go to [Wallet] – [Deposit History] and see whether this deposit appears.

    • If it shows "Pending" or "Processing," Binance's nodes are waiting for network synchronization; just wait.

    • If there is no record at all, the deposit may have encountered an issue.

  2. Visit the Binance "Deposit & Withdrawal Status" page and check the current status of TAO or the Bittensor network. If it shows "Suspended" or "Congested," wait for it to recover.

Completion criteria: You have confirmed that Binance has not actively suspended TAO deposits and that the deposit record appears in your history.

Prerequisites: You confirmed in Step 2 that the on-chain transaction was successful.

Common failure reasons: Block confirmation times on the TAO network are slightly longer than Ethereum. If there aren't enough confirmations yet, wait a bit longer.

4. Use Binance Self-Service Recovery (If Still Not Credited)

What to do: If all the above steps check out but the deposit hasn't arrived after more than one hour, submit a request through Binance's self-service recovery function.

How:

According to Binance's instructions, the following conditions must be met to submit a self-service recovery request for a missing deposit:

  1. The on-chain transaction status must be "Confirmed/Success."

  2. Search for "deposit not credited" or "self-service recovery" in the Binance Help Center to find the application entry.

  3. Paste the TxID; the system will auto-fill the coin, network, deposit address, and other information (if recorded in the system).

  4. Confirm the information is correct and submit the request.

  5. Check the processing status under "Application Records."

If the self-service recovery channel cannot process the request, contact Binance's human customer support and provide:

  • Binance account email

  • Coin name (TAO)

  • Deposit amount

  • TxID

Completion criteria: The request has been submitted successfully, and you have a ticket number or application record.

Prerequisites: You confirmed in Step 3 that the on-chain status is Success.

Common failure reasons: Typing the TxID incorrectly when submitting. Copying and pasting is the safest method; don't type it manually.

Next steps:

Now follow these steps in order: get the TxID → check status on a Subtensor explorer (such as tao.bot or TAO.app) to confirm "Success" → go to Binance deposit history to find the record. If the explorer shows Success with enough confirmations but the funds haven't arrived after more than 1 hour, use the self-service recovery channel to submit a request. After submission, keep an eye on Binance's in-app notifications.
