How to Deposit BNB to Binance: Address and Network Check
First, understand a key difference: BNB exists on two different chains—BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2, deprecated) and BNB Smart Chain (BEP20). The vast majority of wallets and exchanges today use the BEP20 network. If you select the wrong network during deposit, funds are very likely irretrievable. The following steps use the BEP20 network, the current mainstream choice.

1. Prepare an External Wallet with BNB
What to do: Ensure you have an external wallet (such as Trust Wallet, MetaMask, etc.) containing the BNB you want to deposit.
How to do it:
- The wallet must hold sufficient BNB. To deposit BNB on the BEP20 network, the wallet needs to support the BSC (BNB Smart Chain) network.
- Keep a small amount of BNB in the wallet for gas fees to cover the transaction cost.
When it's done: Open your wallet and confirm that your BNB balance is greater than the amount you want to deposit plus the estimated gas fee.
Prerequisites: Completed KYC identity verification on your Binance account.
BNB is the native gas token on BSC. If your wallet's BNB balance is 0, the transfer will fail.
2. Get Your Binance BNB Deposit Address
What to do: Log in to Binance, go to the deposit page, select BNB, and copy the corresponding deposit address and network details.
How to do it:
- Log in to the Binance app and tap [Deposit] on the home screen.
- Select [Deposit Crypto].
- Search for and choose BNB.
- The system will display available networks. Select [BNB Smart Chain (BEP20)]—this is currently the most common and recommended way to transfer BNB.
- You will see a deposit address starting with "0x". Tap to copy it.
When it's done: You have successfully copied the Binance BNB deposit address and are certain that the selected network is BEP20.
BNB also has the BEP2 network (BNB Beacon Chain), but that chain is gradually being phased out. Most wallets default to BEP20; choosing the wrong one can result in lost funds. If you are unsure, ask the sender which network they support—BEP20 is usually the safest choice.
3. Verify the Address and Network, Then Send
What to do: Paste the copied Binance address into your wallet's "Send" page, and make sure the network selection matches.
How to do it:
- Open your external wallet (e.g., Trust Wallet), tap on your BNB asset, and select [Send].
- In the recipient address field, paste the address you copied from Binance. Binance deposit addresses usually start with "0x"; verify the length and check the first and last few characters.
- Confirm that the network selected is [BNB Smart Chain (BEP20)]—exactly the same network you chose on Binance.
- Small test transaction (highly recommended): If this is your first time, send a minimum amount (e.g., 0.01 BNB) first. Once it arrives, transfer the remainder.
When it's done: The address and network have been cross-checked, the transaction has been initiated, and your wallet shows "transaction broadcast" or "pending confirmation".
Common failure reasons:
- Mismatched network selection: You copied a BEP20 address from Binance, but your wallet chose BEP2 or ERC20—the funds will be sent to the wrong network and are usually unrecoverable.
- Incomplete or incorrect address: Some browser extensions or malware can alter the clipboard. Paste and carefully check the first and last several characters of the address.
- Insufficient gas fee: If the BNB balance in your wallet cannot cover the transaction fee, the transfer will get stuck or fail.
Risk reminders:
- Permanent fund loss due to network mismatch: Binance clearly warns that selecting the wrong network may result in loss of funds with no possibility of recovery. BNB BEP2 addresses start with "bnb", while BEP20 addresses start with "0x"—always verify before depositing.
- Do deposit addresses expire?: Binance deposit addresses are generally long-lasting. If you haven't used an address for a long time, it's safer to log into Binance and double-check.

4. Wait for Blockchain Confirmations and Check Your Balance
What to do: Confirm the transaction has been confirmed on-chain, then check your Binance account balance.
How to do it:
- Copy the transaction ID (TxID) and check the number of confirmations on BscScan.
- Return to Binance, go to [Wallet] → [Spot Account] and see if your BNB balance has increased.
- Once the deposit arrives, the top-up is complete.
When it's done: Your BNB balance in the Binance spot account has updated, and the transaction appears in your [Deposit History].
How to confirm you've completed the operation correctly?
Enter the TxID on BscScan, verify that the transaction status is "Success" and the block confirmations meet Binance's requirement (usually completed within seconds). Then log in to the Binance app and check that your spot account shows the increased BNB balance. If this is your first time, do a small test transaction first—once it arrives, transfer the remaining amount.
