If your anti-phishing code is not showing, it means you haven't set one up yet. This is an optional feature in your account security settings and is not enabled by default. When you see the message "Anti-Phishing Code has NOT been activated", it is telling you that you need to create one manually.

What is the anti-phishing code

The anti-phishing code is a security feature provided by Binance — you set a unique combination of 6–8 characters (containing at least three of the following: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores). Once set, all official Binance emails and certain SMS messages will include this code.

Its purpose is: when you receive an email or SMS claiming to be from Binance, first check whether your anti-phishing code is included. If it is there, the message is genuine; if not, it is a phishing scam.

What to do if it is not showing

Step 1: Check the page status

Open the Binance app or website, go to the [Account Security] page, and find the [Anti-Phishing Code] option. If it shows "Not Activated" or "Not Set", it means you have not created one yet.

This feature is not mandatory, and Binance will not restrict your account if you do not set it up. However, it often appears as a reminder in the security dashboard to encourage you to enable it for better protection.

  • When you are done with this step: Confirm that the current status is "Not Activated".

Step 2: Create the anti-phishing code manually

  1. Log in to the Binance app or website and go to [Account] - [Security Settings].

  2. Click [Anti-Phishing Code] - [Create].

  3. Enter a code that you can remember but others cannot guess, 6–8 characters in length, containing at least three of the following: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores.

  4. Confirm and submit using two-factor authentication (2FA) or a passkey.

  • When you are done with this step: The page displays "Activated" or "Enabled". From then on, the code will appear in all official Binance emails and SMS messages.

Common misunderstandings and risk reminders

  • Misunderstanding: "Anti-phishing code not showing means my account is unsafe". This code is a tool for identifying genuine communications, not a tool for preventing account theft. Not setting it does not mean your account has a security vulnerability — it just means you lack one extra clue to identify phishing messages.

  • Risk reminder: Once the anti-phishing code is set, it will appear in all genuine Binance emails and SMS messages. If you receive a "Binance notification" without the anti-phishing code, it is very likely a phishing scam — do not click any links and do not reply.

How to confirm it has been set up correctly

Go to [Account Security] - [Anti-Phishing Code]. If the status shows "Enabled" or "Activated", the setup is complete. The next time you receive an email from Binance, scroll down — the unique character combination you set will appear at the bottom or within the body of the email. When you see it, you will know the email is genuine.
