OKX (OKX) offers two types of widgets: home screen widgets and floating widgets. Home screen widgets are best for a quick glance when you unlock your phone. They stay on your home screen or lock screen. Floating widgets are useful when you are using other apps but still want to see prices or position profit and loss floating on the edge of your screen. The steps to add them are different, and iOS and Android also work differently.

iOS: Home screen and lock screen widgets
iPhone users need iOS 14 or later to add home screen widgets. Lock screen widgets require iOS 16 or later.
Add a home screen widget: Long press an empty area on your home screen, tap "Edit" in the top left corner, choose "Add Widget", and search for "OKX". Then swipe left or right to pick the type you want: major coins (BTC, ETH, etc.), your watchlist, your positions, or your favorites. After choosing, tap "Add Widget" and drag it to the position you like.
Add a lock screen widget: Long press the lock screen, tap "Customize", and choose "Lock Screen". Tap the lock screen widget area, scroll down to find OKX, and swipe left or right to select a type such as "Watch Spot" or "Watch List". After adding it, tap the widget itself to search for or select the coins you want to follow.
There is one limitation you should know: because of how iOS updates widgets, the price may not refresh in time. The official help page clearly mentions this. If you need a relatively real-time price, the widget is not a reliable tool. It is better for seeing a general direction, not for making short-term trading decisions. Also, starting from app version 6.39.0, the "Live Watch" widget has been removed because Apple no longer supports that type.
Android: Home screen widgets and floating widgets
The steps on Android vary by phone brand and system version. The official help page also says the instructions are only a general guide.
Add a home screen widget: Long press the home screen, tap "Widgets" at the bottom (some brands may use a different name), scroll to find OKX, and choose the type you like. After adding it, tap the settings icon on the widget to edit your watchlist or add and remove coins.
Add a floating widget (if you want prices or position profit and loss to float above other apps): Open the OKX app and go to the candlestick chart page of any trading pair. Tap the more icon in the top right corner (usually "…"), enter "Trading Settings" or a similar menu, and find the "Position Floating Window" or "Live Watch" option. Turn it on. The system will ask for permission to "display over other apps". You need to allow it. If you skipped the permission earlier, go to your phone's app settings, find OKX, and enable "Display over other apps" or a similar option.
To make the floating widget update more promptly, OKX suggests Android users turn off battery saver mode, allow the app to run in the background, and lock the OKX app in the recent apps screen. These settings may use a little more battery, so you need to decide whether that trade-off is worth it.
An easy-to-miss detail
OKX also has a C2C price widget, which is different from the market watch widget. It shows the best buy and sell quotes in the C2C market (for example, CNY/USDT), and the data updates once every minute. If you care about fiat deposit and withdrawal prices rather than crypto-to-crypto market prices, this widget is more direct. You add it the same way as a normal widget: find OKX in the widget list and choose "C2C Trade Quotes".
Which one should you choose
If you just want to glance at the rough price of BTC or your favorite coins without unlocking your phone, a home screen widget is enough. The downside is that updates on iOS may be delayed.
If you want to see the real-time movement of a trading pair while using other apps, or if you hold futures positions and need to keep an eye on floating profit and loss, a floating widget is more suitable. But on Android, you need to grant extra background permissions, which will use a little more battery.
If you mainly care about the fiat currency quote when depositing or withdrawing money, use the C2C price widget. Do not try to guess C2C prices with a market watch widget.
