How to Deposit SAND on OKX? The Sandbox SAND Funding Tutorial

Depositing SAND to OKX only has two core steps: confirm which blockchain network your SAND is stored on, then select the corresponding matching network on the OKX deposit page. SAND has different contract addresses across different chains; choosing the wrong network will send your assets to an incompatible address, resulting in permanently unrecoverable funds.

1. Confirm which network your SAND is on

Goal: Before initiating any transfer, verify the blockchain network of your SAND held in your self-custody wallet or withdrawal platform. SAND is deployed on multiple networks, and assets on different networks cannot be used interchangeably.

How to do it:

According to records from CoinDesk and official The Sandbox documentation, SAND supports the following mainstream networks:

  • Ethereum Mainnet (ERC20): Contract address 0x3845badAde8e6dFF049820680d1F14bD3903a5d0

  • BNB Chain (BEP20): Contract address 0x67b725d7e342d7b611fa85e859df9697d9378b2e

  • Polygon (POL): Contract address 0xBbba073C31bF03b8ACf7c28EF0738DeCF3695683

Open your wallet and confirm the network of your held SAND:

Case A: SAND on Ethereum Mainnet → Select Ethereum (ERC20) on the OKX deposit page

Case B: SAND on BNB Chain → Select BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) on the OKX deposit page

Case C: SAND on Polygon → Select Polygon on the OKX deposit page

SAND also has a wrapped version (WSAND) on Solana with contract address 49c7WuCZkQgc3M4qH8WuEUNXfgwupZf1xqWkDQ7gjRGt, but OKX's SAND deposit channel generally only recognizes SAND on the native supported networks, always refer to the actual network options displayed on the OKX deposit page for the latest updates.

Completion check: You can clearly confirm which of the 3 supported networks (Ethereum Mainnet, BNB Chain, Polygon) your SAND is stored on.

Prerequisite: Your OKX account has completed identity verification (KYC), deposits are not allowed for unverified accounts.

Common failure cause: SAND has different contract addresses on different chains. If you transfer SAND on BSC to an Ethereum deposit address, the funds will be sent to the corresponding address on Ethereum Mainnet, but OKX does not have a SAND deposit channel for SAND from BSC on Ethereum, so the assets cannot be credited to your account.

2. Transfer SAND from your on-chain wallet to OKX

Goal: After confirming the correct network, transfer your SAND to the OKX exchange.

How to do it:

  1. Open the OKX App, tap Assets on the bottom navigation bar, then select Deposit.

  2. Search for "SAND" in the crypto selection bar.

  3. Select network: Choose the corresponding network you confirmed in step 1 (ERC20 / BEP20 / Polygon).

  4. The page will display your unique SAND deposit address and the minimum deposit amount. If you send an amount lower than the minimum requirement, the funds will never be credited and cannot be retrieved.

  5. Copy the generated deposit address, open your self-custody wallet, confirm the current network of your wallet matches the network you selected on OKX, then initiate the transfer. Different networks require different native tokens for gas fees: Ethereum Mainnet needs ETH, BNB Chain needs BNB, Polygon needs MATIC.

Completion check: Your transfer has been submitted successfully, and you have obtained the TxID (transaction ID) for this on-chain transfer.

Prerequisite: Your wallet holds sufficient SAND balance, plus enough native tokens of the corresponding network to cover gas fees.

Risk Warning: Blockchain transactions are irreversible. It is recommended to send a small test amount first for your first operation, confirm the test funds are credited successfully, then transfer the remaining SAND amount.

3. Buy SAND directly on OKX (if you do not hold SAND yet)

Goal: If you do not have SAND in your self-custody wallet, buying SAND directly on OKX with USDT is far simpler, and you do not need to handle complex network selection operations.

How to do it:

According to OKX's official purchase guide, after you complete account registration and KYC, you can fund your OKX account via bank transfer, credit card, Apple Pay and other supported methods, then search for the "SAND/USDT" trading pair in the spot trading section to buy SAND directly. Bank transfer funding usually takes 1-3 business days to process.

Completion check: Your OKX spot account displays the available SAND balance.

Prerequisite: Your account has completed KYC and has sufficient USDT balance for the purchase.

Common failure cause: You selected the wrong trading pair when searching for SAND. The official spot trading pair for SAND on OKX is "SAND/USDT", confirm this before you place an order.

Next steps:

  • You already hold SAND in a self-custody wallet: Proceed to step 2. Confirm the network on the OKX deposit page matches the network your SAND is on before initiating the transfer, send a small test amount first, and transfer the rest after the test amount arrives.

  • You do not hold SAND yet: Proceed to step 3, buying SAND directly with USDT is the most convenient option with no network configuration required.
