The reward base for Deposit Match is not your total account balance, and it is not the total amount you deposit during the event. It is based on "net deposits": the new funds that successfully arrive in your account during the event period, minus any outflows that the system treats as withdrawals during the same period. Any balance already in your account before the event starts does not count. More importantly, the reward is not paid out all at once. If your net deposit falls below the threshold during the payout period, that period's reward will be cancelled entirely. It will not be reduced proportionally.

How Net Deposits Are Calculated
OKX defines it directly in the event terms: Net deposits = total eligible deposits during the event period − total withdrawals during the event period.
There are three details that are easy to get wrong.
First, only new funds during the event period count. Any coins already in your account before the event starts will not be counted as "eligible deposits," no matter how long you hold them. Deposit Match rewards money that "newly comes in" during the event window.
Second, the definition of withdrawal is broader than you might think. Withdrawing crypto to an external wallet is not the only thing that counts as a withdrawal. Transferring to other OKX users, moving funds to OKX Pay, or sending funds to a DEX wallet will all be counted as withdrawals and deducted from your net deposits. Transferring from your own main account to a sub-account does not count, but sub-accounts themselves are not eligible to participate.
Third, only the arrival time counts. Deposits are calculated based on when the funds successfully arrive, not when you initiate the transfer. If you start an on-chain transfer a few minutes before the event ends, but the block confirmation happens after the event ends, that money will not be counted. Delays from bank channels and on-chain channels can both cause a deposit that "looks like it made it" to be invalid.
Here is an official example: You have 10,000 USDG in your account before the event starts. During the event, you deposit 15,000, so your net deposit is 15,000. Then you withdraw 3,000, and your net deposit drops to 12,000. Then you withdraw 5,000 more, and your net deposit drops to 7,000. If the eligible deposit threshold for this event is 10,000, then the moment you withdraw down to 7,000, you have already fallen below the threshold.
How Rewards Are Paid Out
The reward is calculated as: eligible deposits at the end of the event × match rate. The match rate may be a fixed value or tiered, depending on the specific event you join.
But the reward is not paid out all at once. OKX splits the reward into multiple periods and deposits them into your account in installments during the payout period. Before each payout, the system checks whether your current net deposit still meets the eligible deposit threshold.
This means you cannot "take the reward and leave." If you withdraw money during the payout period and your net deposit falls below the threshold, the next period's reward will be cancelled entirely, not partially reduced. If you make up the shortfall before the next payout, subsequent payouts can continue. If you do not make it up, the period you already missed will not be paid later.
The Payout Details section on the event page shows your current net deposit and estimated reward. Before withdrawing, check this page to confirm whether your net deposit will fall below the threshold after the withdrawal. OKX's FAQ lists this step as a key action to avoid losing rewards.
Which Actions Do Not Count as Withdrawals, and Which Do
Mixing this up is a common reason for unexpected reductions in net deposits.
Not counted as withdrawals: Moving funds from your funding account to your trading account for spot trading or quick swap is a trading activity and does not affect net deposits. Moving funds into Earn products usually does not count as a withdrawal either.
Counted as withdrawals: Withdrawing crypto to an external address, transferring to other OKX users, moving funds to OKX Pay, or sending funds to a DEX wallet. These actions will directly deduct the corresponding amount from your net deposits.
If You Have Questions About the Amount
Common reasons listed in the OKX FAQ for "eligible deposits being lower than actual deposits" include: deposits made outside the event period, deposits that did not successfully arrive, internal transfers, unsupported deposit methods, deposits offset by withdrawals, amounts below the minimum threshold, amounts above the reward cap, and differences in coin valuation.
If you confirm that an eligible deposit was not counted, you can first check the event details page, then contact customer support with the order number and supporting information for that deposit. When an on-chain deposit is delayed or stuck in pending status, customer support needs the order number to investigate.
