How to Deposit IOTA on OKX? Funding Tutorial
Depositing IOTA on OKX follows the standard on-chain deposit process: log in -> get an IOTA deposit address -> initiate a transfer from an external wallet. The key is to confirm that you hold the version of IOTA supported by OKX (currently the OKX website shows IOTA EVM), and that the deposit address and network selection match.

IOTA has gone through several upgrades, from the early MIOTA to the current IOTA EVM. When depositing, you need to confirm exactly which version you are holding. Below are the complete steps.
Prerequisites
- You have registered an OKX account and completed identity verification (KYC). Verification is required to use deposit and trading functions.
- You hold IOTA in a wallet (such as IOTA Firefly wallet, MetaMask configured with IOTA EVM network, etc.) and have sufficient balance to cover the network fee for the transfer.
- You know whether you are holding native IOTA mainnet tokens or the IOTA EVM version.
Step 1: Identify the Type of IOTA You Hold
IOTA exists in different versions, with different address formats and networks:
- IOTA Mainnet Native IOTA: addresses start with iota1 and run on the IOTA mainnet.
- IOTA EVM: an Ethereum-compatible smart contract version with addresses starting with 0x and running on the IOTA EVM network.
OKX currently provides purchase and trading services for IOTA EVM. If you are holding native IOTA mainnet tokens, you may need to first check whether OKX supports deposits for that version.
Completion criterion: You clearly know the network version of the IOTA you hold.
Step 2: Get the IOTA Deposit Address on OKX
- Log in to the OKX app or website and go to [Assets] -> [Deposit].
- Search for "IOTA" or "IOTA EVM".
- Select the network that matches the version of IOTA you hold.
- The page will display the deposit address. Click to copy it.
App: Tap [Assets] at the bottom right -> [Deposit] -> select IOTA and the corresponding network -> copy the deposit address. Web: Click [Asset Management] at the top right -> [Deposit] -> select IOTA and the corresponding network -> copy the deposit address.
Completion criterion: Successfully copied the IOTA deposit address generated by OKX.
Both the sending and receiving sides must choose the same [coin] and [network]; the contract address must also match. Otherwise, the deposit will not arrive.
Step 3: Initiate the IOTA Transfer from the External Wallet
- Open the wallet where you hold IOTA (such as IOTA Firefly wallet, MetaMask, etc.).
- Select the "Send" or "Transfer" function and paste the OKX deposit address copied in Step 2.
- Enter the amount of IOTA you intend to deposit (note: reserve enough for network fees).
- After double-checking the address, confirm the transaction.
Completion criterion: The transfer is submitted successfully and a transaction hash (TxID) is generated.
Step 4: Confirm the Deposit Arrival
- Return to OKX, go to [Assets] -> [Deposit History] to check the status.
- The arrival time for IOTA deposits depends on network confirmation speed, generally completed within a few minutes.
- When the deposit record status changes to "Completed" and the IOTA balance in the assets page increases, the deposit is successful.
Completion criterion: The OKX assets page shows that the IOTA balance has been updated.
Common Reasons for Failure
Wrong Network Selected
If you hold the IOTA EVM version but selected an IOTA mainnet deposit address, or vice versa, the assets will not be credited. Before depositing, always confirm on the OKX deposit page that the version is available under the selected network and that a deposit address is displayed. If the deposit page does not support the version you hold, you need to first convert via a cross-chain bridge before depositing.
Risk Reminders
- Wrong Network Risk: Sending IOTA to an address on an unsupported network may lead to permanent loss of assets. Be sure to verify that the coin and network match on the deposit page before proceeding.
- Address Verification: After copying the deposit address, check it character by character when pasting into your wallet to prevent clipboard hijacking.
- Confirmation Requirement: After the deposit arrives, the platform's required withdrawal confirmation count must be reached before you can withdraw or conduct C2C sell operations.

How to Confirm the Deposit Is Complete
Once the deposit is submitted, check the status under OKX [Deposit History]. When the status changes from "Processing" to "Completed" and the IOTA balance in [Assets] increases, the deposit is successful. It is recommended to close the app and re-enter the assets page to refresh the balance display. If the deposit has not arrived after more than 30 minutes, copy the TxID and submit a "Deposit not credited" ticket through the OKX Customer Support Center for inquiry.
