Will Holding BNB in Simple Earn Miss Snapshots?
No, it will not. BNB placed in Simple Earn (flexible products or BNB Vault) will be included in snapshot calculations. The account scope for snapshots explicitly covers "Binance Earn accounts" and "BNB Vault accounts".
Why won't holding BNB in Simple Earn be missed?
In 2019, Binance updated its site-wide BNB holding calculation logic from a "fixed-time snapshot" to a "24-hour daily average holding". Under this logic, holdings in Binance Simple Earn accounts and BNB Vault accounts are all included in the calculation.
The formula is clearly listed as:
User's total daily average holding = Spot account daily average holding + Binance Earn account daily average holding + BNB Vault account daily average holding + … (other account types)
In other words, as long as you put your BNB in Simple Earn flexible products or BNB Vault, the system will directly read the BNB balance from these accounts when computing snapshots. There is no need to manually transfer BNB back to your spot account.
How is the snapshot calculated?
Whether it's Launchpool, Megadrop, or HODLer Airdrops, Binance uses a similar snapshot mechanism:
Multiple random snapshots per hour: The system takes multiple snapshots of user holdings at random times within each hour.
Calculate the hourly average holding: The average of the multiple snapshots within that hour is taken as the hourly holding amount.
Calculate the total average over the period: For example, if an airdrop references holdings over the past 7 days, the average of all the hourly average holdings across those 7 days is used.
Differences between flexible and locked products
Flexible products (including BNB Vault): Holdings will be counted in snapshot statistics. However, note that the reward calculation for BNB Vault and the claiming of Launchpool rewards have some special rules. If multiple Launchpool projects are running simultaneously, assets in the BNB Vault will be evenly distributed across each project.
Locked products: These are also included in snapshot calculations. Since December 2023, users with BNB in locked products also receive Launchpool rewards without needing to redeem their locked positions.
Step-by-step: Putting BNB into Simple Earn
Log in to Binance and go to the [Earn] or [Simple Earn] page.
Search for "BNB" and find the flexible products or BNB Vault.
Click to subscribe and deposit your BNB.
Completion check: You can see your BNB holdings under [Earn] – [Flexible Products] or [BNB Vault].
BNB Vault is a flexible yield aggregator. Once subscribed, you can simultaneously earn Simple Earn flexible rewards and Launchpool rewards with one click, without needing to manually switch between different projects.
Confirmation
After depositing into Simple Earn, check your [Assets] page to confirm that the BNB has moved from your "Spot Account" to your "Earn Account" or "BNB Vault" balance. When a new Launchpool or HODLer Airdrop announcement is made, no extra action is needed—the snapshot will automatically include these holdings. If you haven't received airdrop rewards within 24 hours after the announcement, contact customer support for verification.
