How to Set Up Recurring Transfers on Binance? Receiving, Funding, and Stopping

Binance currently has two easily confused "recurring transfer" features, each serving a different type of recipient. If you want to regularly send funds to another Binance user, use Binance Pay's recurring transfer. If you want to regularly withdraw crypto to an external on-chain address (or the on-chain address of another Binance account), use Recurring Withdrawal (which Binance sometimes also groups under "recurring transfer"). The paths, fees, and failure handling are different for each, so first confirm who you are paying before you begin.

First, clarify: who do you want to pay on a schedule?

To a Binance user (internal transfer) Use the "Recurring Transfer" feature in Binance Pay. Funds move within Binance, so there are no on-chain miner fees. This is suitable for rent, subscriptions, shared expenses, and similar fixed payments. The requirement is that the other person also has a Binance account, and you enter their email, phone number, or Binance ID.

To an external wallet or on-chain address Use "Recurring Withdrawal." Each scheduled payment initiates a real on-chain withdrawal, and network fees are charged each time. It is also subject to your account's withdrawal limits. This is suitable for regularly moving assets to your own cold wallet, another exchange, or a fixed address.

Below are the setup and cancellation steps for each path.

Path 1: Recurring transfer to a Binance user (Binance Pay)

Where to set it up After logging in, go to the Pay page, select Recurring Transfer (or "Recurring Send"), and click Add to create a new plan. Enter the recipient's Binance account information (email/phone number/BUID), set the amount, currency, first send date, and frequency (daily/weekly/monthly), then review and confirm.

What to watch for with funding The key failure condition for this feature is insufficient balance at the time of execution. The system sends a reminder 1 day before the scheduled date, but a reminder does not guarantee a successful deduction. If there is not enough balance in your account when the deduction happens, that scheduled transfer fails, and the system will not automatically retry. You will need to manually send the amount to the other person. It is recommended to keep the required currency in your Funding account or available Pay balance before the execution date, and avoid using those funds for other operations.

How to stop it Go to the Recurring Transfer page, find the active plan, and select Cancel Recurring Transfer. After cancellation, no new automatic transfers will be created, but already completed transfers are not affected.

Path 2: Recurring withdrawal to an on-chain address

Where to set it up Binance provides two entry points. One is Services → Frequently Used → Recurring Transfer/Recurring Withdrawal. The other is on the Withdraw page: when filling in the address and amount, choose a frequency of daily/weekly/monthly/yearly, then select "Recurring Withdrawal" instead of a normal withdrawal. When entering an on-chain address, pay attention to matching the correct network. If the withdrawal whitelist is enabled, you can only select whitelisted addresses from your address book and cannot paste a new address temporarily.

Funding and failure handling Each time the plan runs, the system deducts the crypto from your Spot account (or the corresponding account) and sends an on-chain transaction. Insufficient balance will cause that scheduled payment to fail, and it will not automatically retry. In addition, standard network fees are charged each time, and the actual amount received is the amount after deducting the miner fee. One option is worth noting during setup: "If USDT balance is insufficient, pay with other available currencies." If selected, the system will try to use other available currencies to complete the transfer when the main currency is insufficient. This can reduce the chance of failure caused by fluctuations in a single currency balance, but it also means other assets may be deducted without you noticing. Whether to select it depends on whether you are more concerned about avoiding failed payments or avoiding automatic asset conversion.

How to stop it Go to the Recurring Transfer/Recurring Withdrawal plan list, select the plan you want to stop, and click Cancel Recurring Transfer. Cancellation only affects future scheduled payments. Transactions already broadcast to the blockchain cannot be reversed.

Checking arrival and status

For internal recurring transfers, success means the recipient's Binance account has received the funds. You can see the completed status in your payment records or asset history. For on-chain recurring withdrawals, you need to check in stages. After the plan executes, first go to Orders → Asset History, find the record under the "Recurring Withdrawal" type, and confirm whether the platform has processed it. If the platform shows completed, then use the TxID to check the on-chain confirmation status on the relevant block explorer. Platform success does not mean the recipient address is already usable, especially when withdrawing to a contract address or an address that requires a Tag/Memo. If the network or memo is missing or wrong, the assets may not arrive and the on-chain transaction cannot be reversed. Before setting up a recurring withdrawal to a new address, it is recommended to first do a small manual withdrawal to verify that the address and network are correct.

An easy-to-miss limitation

Neither of these features is a universal auto-debit tool that will automatically pull funds from elsewhere when your balance is insufficient. If a Binance Pay recurring transfer fails, it simply fails and will not retry. Recurring Withdrawal can use a backup currency if you enable that option, but the backup currency choices are limited, and network fees are still charged each time. If your goal is to "make sure the other party receives payment every time," the safer approach is to manually check your balance before the execution date, or set a less frequent schedule so you have time to fix any issues.
