The entry point for your first spot order is in the "Spot" area of the Binance trading page. A limit buy order is the most common order type for beginners, allowing you to set your own buy price instead of rushing to buy at market price.

Step 1: Go to the Spot Trading Page

Open the Binance app or website, click "Trade" in the top navigation bar, then select "Spot Trading" to enter the main interface. App users usually have a "Trade" entry at the bottom of the home screen; tap it and choose "Spot".

Step 2: Select a Trading Pair

In the search box on the left, type the coin you want to trade. For example, to buy BTC with USDT, choose the BTC/USDT pair. Beginners should prefer pairs with USDT, as prices are clear and liquidity is sufficient.

Step 3: Fill in the Limit Buy Order

In the order form on the right, make sure the mode is "Buy" and the order type is set to "Limit." Then fill in the price and quantity:

  • Price: The buy price you are willing to pay. You can refer to the "Sell 1" price on the left, which is the current lowest ask price.

  • Quantity: How much you want to buy. Note that the page shows a minimum trade size limit; entering less will be rejected by the system.

After entering, click the "Buy [Coin]" button to submit the order. Once submitted, the order appears in the "Open Orders" list. It will execute when the market price reaches your set price.

Risk Reminder

Limit orders are not market orders — if the price doesn't reach your set price, the order will stay open and not fill, and your funds will be frozen, preventing you from using the same funds for other trades. If the price never reaches that level, you can cancel the order anytime in "Open Orders," and the funds will be released automatically.

Common Reasons for Order Failure

The most common is entering a quantity below the minimum trade size shown on the page, causing the system to show an error. Another is setting a price too far from the market, causing the order to sit unfilled for a long time. For your first trade, refer to the "Sell 1" or "Buy 1" price and use a similar number; this makes it easier to experience the order execution process.
