Check 1: Options trading permission is enabled — don't get stuck on the knowledge quiz

What to do: Confirm your account has options trading permission.

How to do it: Go to the Options or Derivatives page. If the system says you need to complete the options knowledge quiz, you must finish it before creating an RFQ. If you do not pass, you cannot click send. Don't get stuck here.

Done when: The options page opens normally, there is no pop-up saying your access is limited, and you can see your options account balance in the top left corner.

Check 2: Enough margin — sellers need to put up money

What to do: Confirm your options account has enough margin to support this trade.

How to do it: If you are an options buyer (you pay a premium to buy an option), you do not need extra margin. You only need enough balance to cover the premium. But if you are an options seller (you sell an option and receive a premium), the system requires margin under the Clearing Rules. The amount depends on the underlying asset, strike price, and expiration date.

Done when: After you enter the quantity on the RFQ creation page, the system does not show a red "insufficient available margin" message. If it does, go to the Options Account page to add funds first.

Check 3: Trade parameters are correct — direction, strike price, expiration date

What to do: Go through the key fields in the RFQ form one by one. This is where a small slip can cause a wrong order.

How to do it: Check these in order:

  • Underlying asset: Is it BTC or ETH?
  • Direction: Are you buying (Long) or selling (Short)?
  • Strike price: Did you enter it correctly?
  • Expiration date: Binance Options RFQ does not support custom expiration dates. You can only choose dates already listed on the global order book. Do not expect to pick a non-standard date like "next Wednesday at 3 PM".

Done when: The quote preview area on the right side shows a trade summary that matches what you expect, with no red error text.

Check 4: All legs of a multi-leg strategy are included

What to do: If you are building a multi-leg strategy such as a bull call spread or a straddle, make sure every leg is added.

How to do it: Binance Options RFQ supports multi-leg trades. You can combine multiple legs into one order when creating an RFQ. The creation page usually offers common strategy templates. Selecting a template can reduce manual mistakes. Do not miss a leg — if one leg is missing, the quote you receive is not the strategy you actually want.

Done when: The quote details show all the legs you planned, and the total quantity adds up correctly.

Check 5: Quote validity — do not wait too long

What to do: Confirm the quote is still valid. Do not wait until it expires to click confirm.

How to do it: After you send an RFQ, market makers return a quote. This quote is not valid forever. Confirm it as soon as possible after receiving it. If it expires, you need to send a new RFQ. The expiry time is usually marked in the system with the expirationTimestamp field.

Done when: You click "Buy" or "Sell" while the quote is still valid, and the page moves to the trade confirmation.

How to verify after the operation

After clicking "Buy" or "Sell", go to Order History or Positions and check the order. If the status is "Filled", the RFQ process is complete and the options position is already in your account.
