How to Deposit ALGO on OKX: Algorand Funding Tutorial
Depositing ALGO (Algorand) on OKX follows the standard on-chain deposit process: log in → get your ALGO deposit address → initiate a transfer from an external wallet. Both parties must select the same currency and network, and the contract address must match.

ALGO is the native token of the Algorand blockchain. The address format is either a URI starting with algorand:// or a pure algo1... address. Below are the complete deposit steps.
Prerequisites
You have registered an OKX account and completed identity verification (KYC). Verification is required to use deposit and trading features.
Your ALGO is on the Algorand mainnet, and your wallet holds enough balance to cover the transfer fee. Algorand network fees are extremely low, typically measured in microALGO.
You control the wallet that holds the ALGO and can initiate transfers normally.
Step 1: Log in to OKX to obtain your ALGO deposit address
App:
Open the OKX App, tap bottom [Assets] → [Deposit] → [Deposit].
Search for "ALGO" or "Algorand", then select ALGO.
Select the Algorand network (Algorand mainnet).
The page will display the deposit address (a string starting with algo1 or a URI in algorand:// format). Tap to copy.
Web:
Log in to the OKX official website, click the top-right [Asset Management] → [Deposit].
Search for ALGO and select the Algorand network.
Copy the displayed deposit address.
Completion criteria: You have successfully copied the ALGO deposit address generated by OKX.
If you accidentally select another network (such as BSC or ERC20), the system will warn you that it is not supported. Be sure to select the Algorand mainnet.
Step 2: Initiate the ALGO transfer from an external wallet
Open your wallet that holds ALGO (e.g., Pera Wallet, Defly Wallet, MetaMask configured for the Algorand network, or any wallet that supports Algorand mainnet).
Choose "Send" or "Transfer", then paste the OKX deposit address you copied in Step 1.
Enter the amount of ALGO you wish to deposit. Keep in mind that you need to reserve a small amount for miner fees; Algorand fees are very low, but a tiny balance must remain.
Double-check the address, then confirm the transfer.
Completion criteria: The transfer is submitted successfully and a transaction hash (TxID) has been generated.
Step 3: Confirm the deposit arrival
Return to the OKX App or website, and go to [Assets] → [Deposit History] to check the status.
ALGO deposits require confirmations on the Algorand mainnet. The Algorand network is fast; deposits typically complete within 1–5 minutes.
When the deposit history status changes to "Completed" and your ALGO balance on the [Assets] page increases, the deposit is successful.
Completion criteria: The OKX Assets page shows an updated ALGO balance.
Common Failure Reasons
Wrong network selected
Both the sender and the receiver must select the same currency and network, and the contract address must match; otherwise the deposit will not arrive. If you hold ALGO on the Algorand mainnet but select BSC or Ethereum network for the deposit, your assets will not arrive and may be unrecoverable.
Risk Reminder
Wrong network risk: Sending ALGO to a non-Algorand mainnet address may result in permanent loss of assets. Always confirm that the network selection is Algorand on the deposit page before proceeding.
Address verification: After pasting the address, verify the first and last few characters character by character to prevent clipboard hijacking.
Confirmation requirements: After a deposit arrives, the platform's required withdrawal confirmation count must be met before you can withdraw or sell via C2C.

How to confirm the deposit is completed
After submitting the deposit, check the status in OKX [Deposit History]. When the status changes from "Processing" to "Completed" and your ALGO balance in [Assets] increases, the deposit is successful. We recommend closing the App and re-entering the Assets page to refresh the balance display.
If the deposit has not been credited after 30 minutes, look up the TxID on an Algorand block explorer (such as AlgoScan) to confirm the confirmation status. If confirmations are complete, copy the TxID and submit a "Deposit not credited" ticket through the OKX customer support center.
