How to Fill in Country/Region and International Dialing Code When Registering on Binance for EU Users?
Choose the EU member state where you currently actually reside, and the corresponding international dialing code will be automatically matched by the system according to the selected country. However, please note that after the full implementation of the MiCA regulation on July 1, 2026, Binance will only impose restrictions on six countries: France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Belgium, and Sweden. Other EU countries can still register and trade normally.

1. Confirm Whether Your Country of Residence is Restricted
What to do: Before registering, first confirm whether the EU country you are currently in is restricted by Binance for new user registration.
How to do it: Refer to the following situations:
Situation A: Residing in France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Belgium, Sweden
From July 1, 2026, Binance suspends new user registration, deposits, and some savings product services in the above countries.
If you are in these countries, you cannot register a new account at the moment and need to pay attention to whether Binance subsequently reapplies for a MiCA license through France and resumes services.
Situation B: Residing in EU/EEA countries other than the above six (e.g., Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Greece, etc.)
Currently, you can still register a new user account and trade normally.
You can continue to complete the registration according to the normal process.
What degree of completion counts: You have confirmed that you can currently register and proceed to the next step.
Binance failed to obtain a pan-European MiCA license before the end of the MiCA transition period on July 1, 2026. After withdrawing its application in Greece, it shifted to reapply in France, and the restrictions on the six countries are preliminary measures to adjust its business.
2. Select Country/Region
What to do: In the "Country/Region" dropdown list on the registration page, select the EU country where you currently actually reside.
How to do it:
Open the Binance official website or app registration page and find the "Country/Region" option.
Search for the name of your EU country in the dropdown list (e.g., "Germany", "Netherlands", "Portugal", etc.).
Binance's country/region codes follow ISO standards, and the list covers all EU member states and EEA countries.
What degree of completion counts: The country/region displayed is the EU country you selected.
Prerequisite: You are currently using a mobile phone number from that country that can normally receive SMS verification codes.
The country/region filled in during registration must be consistent with the identity document (such as passport, residence permit) submitted later for KYC verification, otherwise it may trigger additional review or authentication failure.
Common reasons for failure:
Selecting a restricted EU country (the six countries) – the system will prompt that registration is unavailable.
The country does not match the home country of the mobile phone number actually used – unable to receive SMS verification code.
Risk warning:
The registered region must be filled in as the country where you actually and long-term reside, consistent with KYC document information. If the filled region does not match the IP address or identity documents over the long term, it may be judged as an "abnormal account", triggering additional verification or even freezing.
3. Confirm the International Dialing Code
What to do: Check whether the international dialing code automatically filled in on the registration page is the correct country code for that country.
How to do it:
Binance system usually automatically matches the corresponding international dialing code after you select the country/region.
For common EU countries, for example:
Germany: dialing code +49
Netherlands: dialing code +31
Spain: dialing code +34
Portugal: dialing code +351
Italy: dialing code +39
If the system does not automatically fill it, you need to manually enter the correct country code for that country.
What degree of completion counts: The dialing code is displayed correctly and matches the selected country.
Common reasons for failure:
Missing the "+" sign when manually entering the dialing code – the system requires the "+" as the prefix for international calls.

4. Enter Mobile Phone Number and Receive Verification Code
What to do: After the dialing code, enter your mobile phone number from the EU country you are in.
How to do it:
When entering the mobile phone number, remove the leading "0" (most EU mobile numbers start with 0, but this prefix should be removed when dialing internationally).
Click "Get Verification Code" and check if your phone receives a 6-digit SMS.
What degree of completion counts: Received the verification code and successfully entered it, passed phone verification.
Common reasons for failure:
Added an extra "0" when entering the mobile phone number – the system will recognize the "0" as part of the number, not the dialing code.
The mobile phone number is roaming or has been suspended due to overdue bills, unable to receive international SMS.
Next step: After the verification code is passed, set a password and complete the registration. After registration, immediately perform the following operations in the "Security Center": 1) Bind your mobile phone number from the EU country you are in; 2) Enable Google Authenticator (2FA) and copy down the backup key; 3) Complete KYC identity verification to unlock all trading functions. If you currently reside in one of the six restricted countries, you need to follow Binance's subsequent announcements and wait for it to restore services after re-obtaining a MiCA license through France.
