When you stake SOL and receive BNSOL, the rewards are not sent to your spot account as SOL. Instead, they are built into BNSOL itself — the amount of SOL each BNSOL can be exchanged for increases over time. When you redeem, you get back your principal plus the rewards accumulated during that period. The exact amount depends on the exchange rate at the moment of redemption.

How BNSOL Rewards Are Calculated
BNSOL is Binance's liquid staking token. It represents your staked SOL plus the accumulated staking rewards. The biggest difference from regular staking is that regular staking locks up your assets, while BNSOL can be traded, transferred, or used in DeFi at any time — all while continuing to earn rewards.
Rewards are reflected in the BNSOL:SOL exchange rate. When you stake, you do not receive BNSOL at a 1:1 ratio. Instead, the amount is calculated based on the exchange rate at that time. For example, if the rate is 1 BNSOL ≈ 1.01 SOL, staking 10 SOL would give you about 9.9 BNSOL.
This exchange rate is not fixed. It updates once every Solana epoch (about 2 to 3 days) to reflect the staking rewards generated on-chain during that period. As rewards accumulate, 1 BNSOL can be exchanged for more and more SOL. For example, if you stake when the rate is 1:1.010 and three months later the rate rises to 1:1.0198, the same amount of BNSOL will redeem for more SOL.
The annual percentage rate (APR) is variable and follows on-chain staking rewards. Binance charges a 10% fee on validator rewards, which is already reflected in the final rewards you receive. The reference APR shown on the page is around 4.69%, but your actual earnings depend on how the exchange rate changes while you hold BNSOL.
You will not receive rewards immediately after subscribing. Rewards only start accumulating from the first full Solana epoch after you stake. Before that, the exchange rate will not change for you.
Redemption: Two Paths, Different Speeds
There are two ways to redeem BNSOL for SOL. The difference lies in speed and the exchange rate you get.
Path 1: Standard redemption (with waiting period). Go to the SOL staking page, click redeem, enter the amount of BNSOL, and confirm. Binance's official explanation states that once the redemption request is processed, SOL will be credited to your spot account. According to Binance's FAQ, there may be a waiting period of about 4 days before the redeemed SOL arrives. During this period, you are settled at the exchange rate at the time of redemption and no longer enjoy any reward growth.
Path 2: Sell BNSOL directly on the spot market. BNSOL itself is a tradable token. You can sell it on the spot market at the market price and receive SOL or USDT immediately. This method has no waiting period, but you face the market price rather than the official exchange rate. The market price may be slightly higher or lower than the value corresponding to the official exchange rate due to factors such as liquidity and buying or selling pressure. If market depth is insufficient, selling a large amount may cause slippage.
If you are not in a hurry, standard redemption is simpler. It settles at the official exchange rate without the uncertainty of market fluctuations. If you need to exit immediately, or if you want to sell when BNSOL is trading at a premium relative to SOL, the spot market is the faster choice.
Where to Stake and Redeem
The staking entry is under the Binance [Earn] section. Find [SOL Staking], enter the amount of SOL you want to stake, and confirm. BNSOL will then appear in your spot wallet.
To redeem, go back to the [SOL Staking] page, click [Redeem], enter the amount of BNSOL you want to redeem, and confirm. The redeemed SOL will be credited to your spot wallet.
Keep in mind that during the period when the exchange rate updates, staking and redemption functions will be temporarily paused for about 10 minutes. If you cannot submit your request, wait a few minutes and try again.
What Can You Do with BNSOL?
After receiving BNSOL, you do not have to just wait for it to grow in value. It is designed to be used in multiple scenarios while continuing to accumulate staking rewards:
Hold it in your spot wallet: The simplest option. As the exchange rate rises, the value of your BNSOL increases accordingly.
Transfer it to your Binance Web3 Wallet and use it in DeFi protocols within the Solana ecosystem, such as Kamino, Raydium, Orca, Jupiter, and others. These platforms may offer additional yield opportunities, but you need to assess smart contract risks and liquidity risks yourself.
Use it as collateral or margin for other Binance products (if supported at the time). You need to check the product page for specific support details.
Things to Keep in Mind
BNSOL is issued and custodied by Binance. What you hold is a tokenized voucher on the Binance platform. You do not control the private keys. This is different from holding native SOL in your own wallet.
The redemption waiting period is real. If you choose standard redemption, you need to accept a wait of about 4 days. During this time, you neither have access to your SOL nor continue earning rewards. If the market is highly volatile, these four days could affect your exit timing.
Market price and exchange rate may differ. When buying or selling BNSOL on the spot market, the transaction price is determined by market supply and demand, which may deviate from the official exchange rate. In a sharp downturn, BNSOL may trade at a discount relative to SOL, making selling less favorable. Conversely, it may also trade at a premium. Standard redemption avoids this issue but requires waiting.
If you plan to hold SOL long-term and earn staking rewards while keeping the ability to access your assets at any time, BNSOL's structure is more flexible than locked staking. If you cannot accept the redemption waiting period or are unfamiliar with the risks of DeFi interactions, simply holding SOL in the spot market is a simpler choice.
