Step 1: Understand How Impermanent Loss Occurs
Impermanent loss is not a fee deducted by the platform. It is the amount you underperform compared to simply holding the assets in your wallet without doing anything.

How to do it:
Liquidity pools (e.g., BNB/USDT) use the constant product formula x * y = k to maintain the ratio of the two tokens.
When the market price of BNB rises, arbitrageurs will buy BNB from the pool until the pool's price matches the external market. As a result, the amount of BNB in your pool decreases, while your USDT increases.
If BNB continues to rise, it's as if you "sold early" part of your BNB during the uptrend; if BNB crashes, it's as if you were "forced to catch a falling knife" and ended up holding more BNB during the decline.
This is the essence of impermanent loss—you are passively taking the opposite side of the market move.
When is this step complete: You understand that impermanent loss is not "extra money lost" but "money you failed to gain," and that it only becomes locked in when you exit the pool.
Common mistake: Thinking of impermanent loss as an extra deduction beyond trading fees. In reality, it is an opportunity cost compared to holding, not a line-item expense on your statement.
Step 2: Get a Sense of the Magnitude of Impermanent Loss – Don't Be Terrified, but Don't Ignore It
Impermanent loss is positively correlated with the degree of price deviation, and the loss is symmetric for equal price increases and decreases.
What to do: Memorize a few key numbers to decide whether you can accept the corresponding level of impermanent loss.

Impermanent loss disappears if the price returns to the level at which you added liquidity.
When is this step complete: You have judged whether the impermanent loss is acceptable based on your expectation of the asset's volatility.
Prerequisite: Alpha Earn Hub uses PancakeSwap V3 concentrated liquidity pools, which differ from V2 full-range pools. Your liquidity is only active within the price range you set. Once the price moves out of your range, your position temporarily stops earning fees until the price returns to the range. Step 3: Actually Evaluate the Risk Inside Alpha Earn Hub

How to do it:

When is this step complete: Based on your judgment of the coin's short-term volatility, you have selected a matching price-range strategy and have confirmed you clearly understand what will happen if the price moves outside the range.
How to Confirm Everything Is on Track
After adding liquidity, do an expectation-management check:
Quickly verify with an impermanent-loss calculator: input the price when you added liquidity and an assumed exit price to confirm the estimated loss is within your psychological comfort zone.
Track your position status: On Alpha Earn Hub's [My Holdings] page, regularly check whether your liquidity is still within the price range. If the price approaches a boundary, consider adjusting your strategy or actively managing your position.
Cross-check fee earnings: Fee earnings are the main source to offset impermanent loss. If the price stays within range but fees accumulate slowly, it means trading volume is insufficient, and this pool's APR may have been overestimated.
