How to Set Up DeFi Saver Automation? Triggers, Fees, and Deactivation

DeFi Saver's automation strategies do not charge any fees before they are triggered. Simply enabling monitoring costs nothing. Only when a strategy is actually executed will a 0.05% fee be deducted from your position. This means you can set it up with peace of mind without worrying about idle costs.

How to Set Up Trigger Conditions

DeFi Saver's automation is essentially "preset conditions + automatic execution." You first need to open a supported position (such as Aave, Maker, Compound, etc.), go to the Automate tab, and then choose a strategy based on your needs.

There are two common trigger types:

Trigger by Health Ratio (Automated Leverage Management): This is the most commonly used option. You enter a target health ratio. When the position's health ratio drops below this value, the system will automatically repay part of the debt to restore a safe level. If the ratio rises too high, you can also configure automatic "leverage increase." This strategy is suitable for liquidation protection or maintaining a stable leverage ratio.

Trigger by Price (Boost/Repay on Target Price): You specify a specific collateral price. When the price goes above that point, Boost is triggered (increase leverage). When the price goes below that point, Repay is triggered (repay debt). This is often used to lock in profits at a target price or add to a position near a preset support level.

Whichever you choose, after setting the parameters you need to confirm an on-chain transaction to activate the strategy. Activation itself is also free, but you need to pay gas.

Fee Structure

Once automation is triggered, fees are deducted directly from your position. You do not need to keep extra balance in your wallet. There are two types of fees:

Automation service fee: For each triggered automated transaction, a fee of 0.05% of the transaction amount is charged.

Swap fee within the transaction: If your automation recipe includes token swaps, an additional swap fee will be added. The rate depends on the type of assets being swapped:

  • Between unrelated assets (e.g. ETH → USDC): 0.25%

  • Between related assets (e.g. ETH → wstETH): 0.1%

  • Between stablecoin pairs (e.g. USDT → USDC): 0.01%

In addition, complex transactions may use flash loans. DeFi Saver prioritizes free sources. Only when liquidity is insufficient will it use Aave's flash loan, which costs 0.09%.

How to Deactivate or Modify

Deactivation and modification are both done in the same Automate tab. Find the activated strategy and you can directly modify parameters (for example, raise or lower the health ratio threshold). Changes take effect immediately without paying an activation fee again. If you want to completely deactivate it, simply uncheck the strategy or click to turn it off. Simply enabling monitoring does not involve any deposit or penalty. After deactivation, the position returns to fully manual management.

It is important to note that the available automation strategies depend on the protocol and chain you choose. Not all strategies are available on all protocols. For example, Boost/Repay on Target Price currently mainly supports Aave v3 and Morpho, while Stop Loss/Take Profit is more common on Maker, Liquity, and Aave v3. Before setting up, confirm whether the protocol where your position is located supports the strategy type you want.
